Windowed mode - keeps getting reset each restart

Apologies if this is something already reported but I can't find it anywhere.
Everytime I restart EB the vanilla CFG file resets so I have to put windowed mode back into it or it will start full screen again.

Any ideas how to fix it?

Is your EBII.cfg set to read-only? That should override the medieval2.preferences.cfg.

I'm going to just set the vanilla cfg to read-only after I add in the windowed and borderless hopefully that won't break anything lol

I did the EBII config as read-only. I go into the medievel cfg and add back in windowed and borderless windows and then it works. Then after I exit out and start the next time I go to open EBII the cfgfile is back to having no windowed mode and no borderless window
