This is awesome. A comment though: wouldn't it make sense for the intellectual trait branch to have bonuses to research rate?

Some of the higher tier ones do, yes. There are branches for the traits at the higher levels. The ones I showed are just examples.

Dresden, this is a dream come true. You are truly the hero we need but don't deserve.

One question: what happens when a general attains one of the highest levels of a trait, say, siege master and then also wins enough ambushes afterwards to fulfill the requirements for ambush master?

Once he unlocks a higher tier one, that is his set trait for the remainder of the game.

Well, if I can offer a suggestion, there should be a "capstone" trait if you fulfill the conditions for 2 or more of the highest traits in one tree. Something like "Alexander reborn" for the commander tree and "Aristoteles reborn" for the intelligence one. These capstone traits should give borderline game-breaking boni since they are incredibly hard to get

Have to say that I found the system rather perfect.
Congratulations to the team for their ideas and enlightments.

They will be gone because all 6 slots will be used.

One quick question Dresden - if my general has those 6 slots already fipled by 2 DeI traits (upbringing & personality) 1 by his rank and 3 by vanilla traits, will the update remove those 3 vanilla traits and put those 3 new traits instead of them or will I have to wait for fresh generals to get those traits? Im already 200 turns into a campaign and so the issue is somewhat important...

    Cheers!

It will remove the vanilla traits and add in the new DeI traits.
