There couldn't have been a more appropriate GIF for your moves lol. I will get this done this weekend sometime, lots of strategy to discuss with my ally
Edit: Duskendale, Claw Keep, Die Den, The Whispers and Oxcross seized
Prince Olyvar tried not to let his skepticism show on his face; instead, he kept his grizzled features cool and impassive. It was the expression of a warrior preparing for battle, not a prince secretly questioning his king’s orders. Was it really wise to launch a naval operation against the ironborn so soon? Olyvar didn’t think so, but King Llewyn had insisted. The treacherous bastards are attacking our noble ally, he had said, so our response must be ‘swift and severe.’ Olyvar could see the merit in that point of view, but personally he would have preferred a short delay to better prepare.
As it was, he and his men were forced to launch their invasion in the dead of night, in an operation which was from the beginning beset with nigh crippling operational issues. There were not enough boats available at Darkdell to transport all of their troops in a single trip. Instead, the ferrying had to be done in multiple trips, and one group of soldiers would have to spend a few cold and nervous hours hiding out on an intervening island, trying desperately to avoid detection while the ships went back for their comrades.
Fortunately, none of the defenders noticed their presence, nor did any patrol ships discover their small fleet. A couple fishing boats stumbled across them, and the ships and crews were temporarily captured, to be released unharmed in the morning. By first light, all of the soldiers were in their assigned locations—the bulk busily preparing siege equipment on the marshy ground outside Lord Hewett’s Town, and a smaller force surrounding the enemy-held castle at Old Oak. The transport operation, despite its inherent dangers, had been a complete success. The Greyiron prince himself was among those trapped in Lord Hewett’s Town. Prince Olyvar looked forward to personally mounting his head on a pike.
The Durrandon-Dayne Alliance will lose some ground as a result of House Greyiron’s sudden advance, but we will strike back harder and with a ferocity that will soon cause even the storm-tested ironborn to cower. For those who continue to defy the rightful King of the Seven Kingdoms, only regret and death await you.
