Default I must be hearing things

Right well first big up to the EB Team for such a great sound portfolio.

It really does immerse you into the world hearing the effects of spear-against-spear, hollow whooshes of arrows and sword on shield.

But did anybody pay attention to the the screams and grunts? I swear I heard the poor slave lashed to the German in Gladiator getting run through by a sword a few times.

Just as I heard the Gaul Titus Pullo stabbed in the head in his impetuous charge out of the ranks yell out in pain. LOL.

What other funny things have you guys seen or heard in EB 2?

Wrong ambient sounds. The bird songs etc. you hear on the strat map and some battles are not geographically accurate, as they include several New World species and are randomly cobbled together. But that's the fault of the vanilla game, not the mod team, and I haven't yet found a practical solution to fix it.
Which brings me to the point; I think that the sounds you described are also stock noises from some website/company that has been used by practically all movie/TV/game sound designers for decades. So they might not even originate in the movies/series you recognized them from. Sometimes they even do it consciously, as an in-joke (hence the liberal use of the "Wilhelm scream" in media).

Sometimes, in the mist of the battle, there is a strange song, that fills the silence between the strikes and the shouts and the deaths.

It's not really funny, just weird. Sometimes when I move diplomats in campaign map he will emit 'grunting sound' like assasinated spy. When a spy is moving in the same direction it would emit 'moving around bushes' instead.

It's probably misplaced sound files or something, but I'd like to imagine that the old diplomat might step on some thorny bushes.

The diplomat should grunt if you've given him an impossible command - should sound like he bumped into something.

In some locations, when zooming in on a smaller settlement on the strategic map, I hear this distorted sound that resembles modern radio chatter on a low pass band. Or at times some kind of alien-sounding speech with the kind of space background music one can come across in popular depictions of space (although there is no sound as we understand it in space). I am curious if anyone else gets that or is it just an artifact of my own sound card or hardware setup. A kind of birdsong that sounds natural comes through all of that though (probably the same New World species that athanarac mentioned).

Now that I listened to it carefully, it is actually some kind of loud croaking that frogs and other small creatures of the swamp could conceivably do. Kind of embarrassing to me, really. I guess that before I was just not expecting those kinds of sounds to be so loud on the strategic map.

Is it possible to change the terrian soud files that you hear when you hover over the map tiles? Like in change the swamp frogs sound with a birds sound?

And if so then can you include multiple sound files for the same terrain tile?
