Game crashes after the 1st turn or sometimes after the 2nd turn.

Win 10, 64 bit, Steam version with Kingdoms. Reinstalled the game, scrubbed the folder, reinstalled again, same issue each time. Farthest I've gotten was turn 5 once. Usually just crashes after the first turn. I'm baffled. No one else seems to have this issue. The installation instructions aren't that complicated. I'm hoping I missed something silly someplace.

You're not doing yourself any favours with this long path: D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Medieval II Total War

I'd suggest moving your M2TW installation within Steam to a much shorter one, for example D:\M2TW

I'm wondering if this is still possible? On the tutorial to move the game to a new directory it says there should be a button that says "move this game" but my steam install doesn't have that button? Any idea what to do?

Gigantus has a tutorial describing how to move Steam installations

I did follow those instructions but moving it just means it's on a different drive with the same tree "steamapps\common\Medieval II Total War" It doesn't get any smaller than that through steam?

I don't use Steam myself, but googled a number of variations on "steam folders" and got a rat's nest of unhelpful results. Hopefully somebody else here has had experience with this.
