    Default No Log to be found, chasing a CTD

    Hi,

    I have 2.3 installed on my W10 PC, it's working fine.
    Recently, on my Romani Campaign, I keep getting HUGE lag when attacking a settlement with a reinforcing army.
    I tried to lower my settings (same settings I use on SS6.4 without any problem), but the lag kept growing.

    Note that there is NO LAG whatsoever when having a field battle with the high settings.
    I quit and restarted te game and hope the mag would disappear, but I kept getting a graphics error on the battle loading screen.

    I have these settings in my cfg file:

    [log]to = mods\ebii\logs\eb.system.log.txt
    #level = * trace
    level = * error

    And my log file was empty, no log was saved.

    I then changed the setting to:
    [log]to = mods\ebii\logs\eb.system.log.txt
    level = * trace

    But still no log is saved.

    Why is that? I can't trace the CTD if no log is saved.

    Thanks.

    1) The controlling file is mods\EBII\ebii.cfg

    The log file section looks like this:
    Code: [View]
    [log]
    to = mods/ebii/logs/eb.system.log.txt
    level = * error ## generates a smaller error log file. Use this setting during normal gameplay
    #level = * trace ## Currently disabled. Generates a large error log file. Use this setting when tracking down a CTD
    The default is "error" which is the smaller file, change it as follows to get the larger file:
    Code: [View]
    #level = * error
    level = * trace
    2) And the log file is deposited in this folder: mods\EBII\logs
    EBII Council

    Indeed I have the configuration correct, but didn't even get the small error file.

    I'll try the to get the larger file.

    I had the same issue and it turned out the log was being generated in the M2TW folder, not in the mods\ebii one. I fixed this pasting the log file section "code" above of the ebii.cfg into the medieval2preference.cfg file in the M2TW main folder. Hope that helps.
