    Default Dark Elves

    Here is what I plan to do for the Dark Elves.

    First, they don't really have heraldry or a strong sens of "kingdoms", as they have in Ulthuan.

    So I will handle them differently.

    Each unit will exist in a normal and generic version.

    - The normal version of most units can be recruited in any DE provinces. With standard stats.
    - The normal version of some special units (actually Executionners and Blakc Guard only) can be recruited only in a specific region.
    - Generic units can only be recruited where the normal units cannot be recruited.
    - Most units won't be capped.
    - Special units (shades, cold one knights, hydra, dragons, black guard, executionners) will be capped.

    This is different from the HE mechanism
    - Outside Naggaroth/Ulhutan, HE and DE can both recruit weaker generic units.
    - In Naggaorth, the DE can only recruit the normal version of the units (ie generic not available). They are not capped, but there is no Elite versions. While in Ulthuan, HE can recruit the kingdom version, capped, or still recruit the generic version not capped.

    - Generic and normal version will have a very similar uniforms, the main difference will be the border of the info card. And the size/stats of the units.

    Since there is no real heraldry, the units will keep the faction colours, as in vanilla. While HE unit recruited in a region of Ulthuan keep their color.

    Exemple
    - An heraldic spearmen recruited in Chrace will have red colour, even if it's recruited by Lothern (Blue coloured faction)
    - But a dreadspear recruited in Ghrond by Naggarond will have the Naggarond colour, not the Ghrond colours.

    Hi Steph,

    About HE units:

    I would put into normal pack
    - Griffon riders
    - Spear Sisters, Bow Sisters, Spear Maiden and Bow maiden: extra female units available in any Ulthuan province (I didn't want to lose the work on texture I did before CA release Q&C DLC)

    and rest into optional. Griffon riders are mentioned more in lore not like pegasi and unicorn maiden

    About DE i cannot find any problem in your reasoning.

    But i have a question, what about Black Arch? How do they count? I´m asking because they are after all one of feature of Druchii so it would be nice to have some kind of plan for them. For example i would consider them to be like DE province because they are after all great floating cities the closest thing to Naggaroth itself.

    I haven't looked in details to how Black Ark works, but I think they should be similar to Naggaroth city if I can.

    Or maybe with more emphasis on Corsairs.

    They won't be as detailed as the HE, but still they have officers and bodyguards

    For the Dark Elves, I don't plan to do as extensive retexturing as I did for the HE. I'm mostly using different shields/helmets for the officers. And to differentiate between units out of Naggaroth / in Naggaroth, I use simple variations: for example Corsairs have a cape if recruited in Naggaroth and no cape if recruited elsewhere.

    For Witch Elves and Sisters of Slaugthers, since they are scantily clad, it's hard to remove a piece of cloth such as the cape.

    So instead I made some variation.

    For Sisters of Slaughter, generic units have silver metallic equipment instead of the standard golden one.


    And Witch Elves have black hairs with faction colored strands, and their tatoo is also faction colored. Witch Elves from Naggaroth have their white hairs (with faction coloured tips)

    Icons done for one more faction

    Update of the Dark Elves on the way.

    The recruitment system is a little different:
    - Still generic units outisde of Naggaroth, which are weaker.
    - In Naggaroth, each province now give its own units, with specific graphics (and they keep it whatever the recruiting faction). These units are stronger, and are not coped for the core units. Only special or rare units are capped.
    - Black Arks allow recruiting their own units, with special graphics, and their own capacity.

    This means that you can get monsters, such as Black Dragon, from 3 sources: Black Arks, one province from Naggaroth, or outside of the world. Each source has its own cap: if you develop Naggaroth province, you increase the dragon capacity there, but not in the Black Ark, which is developped separately.

    Work on lore specific graphics for sorcerresses

    Since they don't have much clothes, and it's used for faction colour, I used
    - Make up ,hair, and tatoo (redone)
    - Metallic part of armor
    - Part of staff and weapon

    Lore of Beasts. I first I wanted to make them kind of Amber, and then I realized Beasts for DE are hydra/cold ones, which are more green than brown.

    The new Dark Elves units have been added and will be available with next update in a few days.

    I have taken the opportunity of this DE update to make new textures for the generic monster units. They are a bit smaller, and less coloured than the Naggaroth-only monsters (which are also stronger)
