Jones is a piece of who does not deserve a platform nor a voice.
And that kids, is why we have the first amendment.

Except they'are not suing him re: First Amendment. Defamation is a totally different issue and it is Alex Jones' fault for crossing that line enough for making such a civilian case relevant.
One thing is for certain: the more profoundly baffled you have been in your life, the more open your mind becomes to new ideas.

Let's think the unthinkable, let's do the undoable. Let us prepare to grapple with the ineffable itself, and see if we may not eff it after all.

It's not a guarantee in certain situations and sane people should realize he crossed that line by inspiring violence...maybe not directly but his voice has caused people to commit violence and harassment. He also has defamed everyone (not protected by first amendment) in both Newtown and Parkland. Hence why he does not deserve a platform. He knows he did too...which is why he cowardly retracted everything after the pizzeria shooting.

I agree that if found guilty of defamation he shoukd face the penalty, but people not wanting to allow him a platform at all is the reason 1st amendment exists.

Look at the video above. The guy is obviously crazy and highly irrational. He cannot remotely be compared to BBC or CNN. Those channels have their flaws, but it's not nearly as outlandish as what this turd produces. This is interesting as a weird phenomenon, but no source of reliable information. I agree with the commentators above. He should be sued out of existence.

I’m not disagreeing with you. He should be sued.

But his irrationality or crazy conspiracies have nothing to do with it, if you think being crazy and irrational is grounds for lawsuit that’s an interesting understanding of due process.

And whatever he does, he’s entitled to a platform like you and me, no matter how outlandish the crap he spews.

Alex Jones is just a crisis actor to distract us from the real issues at hand.

I mean...say what you want about Hillary.

I highly doubt she would have revived the "fireside chat" model by using Twitter to

    Be an idiot
    Call out the media
Get into arguments with other foreign officials
Act like a petulant child towards political opponents
    Defend her corrupt friends
    Fire people
    Be an idiot
    Call out her own party
    Lie
    Blast Republicans at every opportunity
    Be an idiot
Call out her own administration, especially when she is throwing a tantrum cause she didn't get her way
    Be an idiot

    Am I forgetting anything?

Hillary is stone cold. She would do all the things Trump is ranting about without making much of a fuzz about it. She's also infinitely more worthy of the office.

She would just do it through the normal media, which would play covering for her, while her sycophants would scream sexism at every criticism.

    Possibly.

I agree with you that many legitimate criticisms of her would be turned to "That's sexist!", because that's the world we unfortunately live in.

I'd rather it go through normal media though. The Twitter model is ing embarrassing. Our President should not be using social media as a show of policy.

Just today with what happened with Sessions? Tragic. I hate Sessions but to call him out for actually doing his job instead of having a private conversation is ing ridiculous.

Exactly. It's embarassing and undignified. Impulsive messages hammered out by the head of state like a teenager with ADHD... absolutely shameful.

I mean. Let's not get too hasty and compare a teenager with ADHD to that of an adulterous, petulant manchild with dementia, narcissistic personality disorder, and extreme paranoia.

It's a bit insulting to the teenagers with ADHD. At least they have the excuse of being kids.

Yeah, someone has to think of the kids!

I have it too btw. What's the matter here? I thought we were lustfully humiliating the American head of state?

What you'd rather and what you think is embarrassing is worth less than nothing.

Really? So you think that Trump is doing just dandy in the way he operates? You think that those Twitter tantrums are fine and indicative of a sane, effective, and competent world leader?

    Okay then.

Talk about a useless belief. Guess I shouldn't expect much from some people. Perhaps I should lower my expectations of the quality of responses.

I'm a teacher so that shouldn't be too hard

Talking about worthless pathetic ignorant crap...
I said no such thing. I understand that it may be difficult, but try not to tell me what I think.

Trump is still more sane and competent then the last several of his predecessors. Mainly I'm basing that on how many wars and conflicts were started by these sane and effective officials, how many coups that resulted with wars and chaos were initiated because of some "competent" president.
Let's just be honest here, the whole faux outrage over Trump's tweets is just a media propaganda talking point, they really hate him because he didn't really go into Syria and defused the situation with North Korea, leaving military-industrial complex monstrosity without another expensive war to spend trillions on.

I was not aware that the Trump twitter posts are or were an expression of policy. I agree there should be fewer twitter posts by the President. I just look on these as his way to bypass the media to express his frustrations. (Not that I even really pay much attention to his tweets.) If anything, this form of communication is more to rile up the opposition and rally his supporters. I think in that respect and judging by the comments on this forum, he is succeeding in that goal. Whether such success is good or not, well.... That would be another discussion.
