this is good for the indian woman (shilpa?) many people will see this in the news and feel sympathy for her and she will end up winning.

Yes there are a number of Britons who are racist, not just against Asians but anybody who is not of the same race as them. That applies to blacks, whites, Chinese, Asians, and eastern Europeans, every ethnic group that makes up the British population has racists just like every other country in the world. For a person who is 43 years old I find you opening sentence a little bit naive, and a seta for stirring up prejudice about Britons today. I don't mean to have a go at you, but on the whole most of us Brits are fine with the colour of a persons skin.
Going back to Big Brother, I havent watched it through but the clips I have seen you could say there are grounds for racists abuse. I though Jades mum was bang out of order, not pronouncing Shilpas name correctly was just bad manners and down right rude, and there was another girl who said Indians are all poor and filthy or words to that effect, and if thats not racial prejudice I dont know what is. And there was another woman who said something in a Indian accent, which could be deemed as racists.
However, I think we have all overlooked something, all the abuse is coming from the women, Shilpa is a beautiful and attractive women where as the rest of girls especially Jade Goody are about as attractive as an all expenses paid weekend away in Baghdad. The bottom line is that the rest of girls are jealous of her, the fact that she is Indian is in my opinion no the reason why she is being picked on, they jealous because she is more attractive then they are, more glamorous and a famous Bollywood movie star. What can the likes of Jade I hate exercise and eating right, especially when liposuction is available to remove the two tonne of fat from my backside Goody, claim fame to? For being the thickest person in Britain?
Once again i see the race card being pulled, they where not being racist, just bullys.
ok - they took fun from her accicent, but i take the piss out of the west country, southern usa and irish accents all the time, thats not realy racist. its just commenting on the way people speak.
they also refered to her as the "indian woman" - now excuse me if i am wrong but she is an indian woman, its hardly racist. i am known as the welsh guy at my college (my class is almost all english people), but its not racist, just an observation of who i am.
like i said its just simple bullying.

i knew an asian girl, Kazakhstani (please hold the borat jokes) and she was born in england but them moved to america at the age of 8. She disliked america and kept talking about going back to england. one of my teachers warned her about descrimination but non the les she moved to england at the age of 21. After 2 horrible years she returned because off all the decrimination put upon her. She also said that the miniorities were the ones descriminating the minorities. Blacks on asains eastern europe and blacks you name it.
Thats my 2 cents
yer thats quite true mate, my mum works in a school whos catchment area covers a small asian and black community and the gangs from each community are constantly fighting each other in school, thiers alot of asian lads vs. black lads stuff going on, and i am not sure why
really? I felt is was an issue and told it how it is. True, such statements can stir up emotions that are already running high, yet have to be addressed. For a person who is 43 years old I find you opening sentence a little bit naive, and a seta for stirring up prejudice about Britons today
Today bb's sponsors have suggested that they may pull out altogether because of it, and the issue was brought up in parliament – it was said on radio 2 earlier.
True she is being picked on by the women, but were all the people booing her women i wonder? I find such statements tend to glance over the specific truth by pointing to another given truth, it may simply be so that both are correct, thus we should not go for just one or the other but view the matter without adding our own preconceived notions and judgements upon it.
Recently i watched a program where 'patriotic' Londoners were genetically tested for race. Nearly all of them were not of British descendancy, they all had a change of heart afterwards!
generally i think most people are at least a little bit racist, which is a natural instinct because of historical invaders. perhaps this has expressions that we dont realise, so in part when someone is attacking another from a different ethnicity for a given reason, this ingrained preducise is spilling out along with that reason. these things can be very covertly subtle as well as overtly unsubtle.

I smell a setup.
The only way for Big Brother to pull big audiences is by having some kind of controversy.
Every series has such a controversy: a transsexual who has sex with other inhabitants before "coming out", a woman giving birth on TV or whatever.
I haven't watched it, but this sounds a bit too convenient for the network to be an accident.
Asians need to grow up and mature before they start going out into the great wide world.
If they cant take the sort of things that go on in Big Brother, why go on the show in the first place.
All it does is hack people off, be they racists or non racists, and provide the far right with even more ammunition.
I have to wonder if this woman went on this programme merely to stir up racial problems. Someone says something about Asians using their hands to eat with and all of a sudden, they are on the streets burning things again. They never learn.
it is pathetic.

To the Brave comes Honour and Victory. To the Weak comes Defeat and Dishonour.
Unlike Jade Goody the enlightened.
I'd take bets on the indian girl in anything but a pie eating contest. Bless you though you are seeking conformity with your intellectual and cultural class.
If they cant take the sort of things that go on in Big Brother, why go on the show in the first place.
People aren't judging the persons reaction but the xenophobia displayed.
Some can't accept that it is a reality TV show designed to show the reality of Britain today, full of xenophobic stupid people. They don't like seeing the truth,
Blast away then, I know your tempted. All it does is hack people off, be they racists or non racists, and provide the far right with even more ammunition.
A new angle with which to attack asians Bravo sir that deserves a golf clap...I have to wonder if this woman went on this programme merely to stir up racial problems. Clap clap clap.

What? Burning things again? let's see, let's see what inconsistencies lie herein. First you refer to Asians burning things; that would be typically assigned to Muslims, not Asians, and there is an important difference.
Second, you think that the Asians are on the streets burning things again, which is simply not true, lots of letters have been sent to Ofcom and Parliament has taken up the matter.
Third, you seem to think "stirring up" racial tensions can be done by existing; I would argue all that has been done is that racial tensions have been highlighted, a much different matter.

So far there have been more complaints about this than any other show in TV history! they said on sky news just now. Foreign relations are getting in a mess too.
Last night one of the contestants said
quote: “she should f.u.*.*. off back where she came from”
i think that was racism without a doubt. Jade is loosing the plot completely, the way she shouts down shilpa is a disgrace, such a show of emotions over oxo cubes is just incredible and will do nothing but stir up emotions in others!

I just heard that this is "celebrity" big brother, and that the Jade character, who apparently is the biggest racist, actually got her celebrity status from appearing on regular big brother before.
WTF? were they really THAT desperate to find enough celebrities?
On the other hand: she is the 25th most influential person in the world.....according to the daily telegraph
Anyways: keep me informed on when she leaves the house.
I would LOVE to see the expression on her face when she first finds out that she made 1.1 billion enemies.
PS: Endemol (=the company that owns BB) stock has reached record highs:
What a little racism can do.
Right that's it! Having had two hours sleep and a 5 mile run it's time to stand up and be counted in this row over Big Brother. Racism? I'll tell you about racism. Three talented young British females have been mercilessly villified, internationally no less, for their principled stance against the rampant Indian nationalism of fading Bollywood icon Shilpa Shetty aided and abetted by her Man-Friday Jermaine Jackson.
Let's get to Jackson first. He had the temerity to brand Jade's mum Jackiey "white trash" and proceeded to say that "there is no reasoning with stupidity", a clear and unjustified broadside at Jackiey, whose daughter Jade is indeed a credit to her both as a person and a parent. As a friend of several pieces of white trash myself, I find this grossly offensive and, in fact, borderline racist. The inference being, of course, that all white trash are stupid. This is outrageous! How many complaints from, or on behalf of, Britain's white trash were received for this thinly veiled generalisation I wonder? Perhaps the politically correct sector amongst the viewing public were making tea at the time and missed it...
Now to Ms Shetty. Not content with forcefeeding these three girls Indian food at every opportunity (ironically chapati flour is at the centre of the current 21/7 terrorist trial at Woolwich Crown Court) Ms Shetty raised the stakes and attempted to go one better. Serving the housemates an undercooked chicken and then attempting to pass it off as a simple mistake in grilling it instead of roasting it was a pathetic excuse and obvious to all right thinking individuals who can see right through sly and malicious people like her. At best, this was an attempt to incite an angry and, frankly, quite justified reaction from the three housemates she is obviously jealous of. At worst, and please do not dismiss this as paranoid scaremongering, it was attempted genocide in microcosm.
Giving Ms Shetty the benefit of the doubt on the latter charge, this attempt to merely cause food poisoning to Jo O'Meara, Jade Goody and Danielle Lloyd was the outpouring of an actress embittered that her best years are behind her and quite obviously envious of the fact these three young Brits, of whom the nation can be justifiably proud, are just setting out on the road to fame and fortune, armed merely with their immense talent, stunning looks and, last but not least, their fierce intellects.
Let us not be swayed by the rantings of a scandal hungry media in their attempt to allege racism on the part of the three aforenamed British women and instead concentrate on the real villain, the real wolf-in-sheeps-clothing here, the treacherous Shilpa Shetty....

The Big Brother racism row is a disgrace by all accounts, and a perfect example of how people no longer understand that we all have a right to freedom of speech, there is nobody who has the right not to be offended.
As I understand it this was sparked by somebody asking if people in India ate with their hands. That is not racist, that is curiousity. It is a question about a culture, and incidentally, yes, some Indians do eat with their hands. It's not necessarily a negative thing, we all eat with our hands after all.
I'm more curious why people even give a crap about this in the first place...
Yes, I agree. Nobody would care if it was actually an important person who had done this. But the Indian is a Bollywood star apparently, so some are pissed.
its Politically correct ******** gone absolutely nuts.
not once have they made racist remarks infact the news have yet to show any footage of "racism" in the house.
Whats the 'racist' remarks made? a woman saying "the indian lady" because she couldnt prenounce her name.
So black, pakistani, halfcast, coloured, and now indian are "taboo" words ..
dunno about anyone else, but i could of sworn "indian" is a description of a person that comes from india?
The girls in the house are dumbass idiots anyway, they dont have the intelligence or the upbringing to be racist intentionally. (hell Jade, the dumbest one there who has apparently been the ring leader in the bullying of the indian lady, is of mixed race herself ffs!)
obviously im wrong thoughim a 'racist', 'nazi', 'neocon' and some other random insults.. according to some members of this community.
Ill tell you what this is; its indoctrination of the UK - just as napoleon and hitler did but in the views of the politically correct and 'liberal'. We have brought an entire nation up to beleive describing someone of a different race or even having an argument with someone of a different race is infact racist.
Way out of control, and our bias (in support of 'multiculturalism', The BBC admitted this) media completely undermine us at every godamn turn.
