The news was all ill this season with the forces of darkness pushing the men of the House of Haldad out of the forest of Brethil , and all was smoke and ash in the air, as those force of evil burnt the remnants of the mens holdings whilst inhabiting the ruins. The last of the refugees of these great people , moved though the forest, escorted by elven wardens , keeping them away from the more important elven places, that they were not allowed to visit, whilst shepherding to the south exit of the forest. Equally birds had returned to the forest bearing messages that the elven expedition force to the dwarfs had been attacked in the night and had been destroyed, and the dwarfs in the far east were severely setupon , with Belegost under siege , and the House of Ulfang invading some of the provinces of the green elves ,which gave King Thingol some consternation especially as his daughter was living in that area of the world.
To perhaps push against the forces of Ulfang, preparations were made to stepup the attacks on Ulfang , to perhaps lessen the pressure on the dwarfs and the green elves was all they could do at this time, to the dismay of the elves of doriath.

There was another thing of note, perhaps this season, when another of the spider-kin of Ungoliant or of Shelob ,reached the Girdle of Melian and the Queen noticed its passing in the northern parts of the forest. Only people that were allowed entry or beings of greater worth could enter, so it was some foul sorcery that allowed this creature inside beyond the Girdle's border, but one of the kings forest men was sentout to investigate. He found the spiderkin keeping low in the branches of the forest and trying to observe ongoing matters within the forest to report back to his masters.

But his messages were forever silenced when the forest ranger, threw two knifes down upon it from above, pinning two of its legs in place on the tree's branches and as it howled in pain, the assassin dropped down from above, its elven blade, slicing downwards above its head, as he fell, bringing all that momentum down into the spider's body lopping off the creatures head, before the elf, cat quick caught one of the branches with one hand, swung itself around, where he fell into a grouping of large shrubs , where he fell into a ball , rolled and stood up right checking that the spiderkin was dead. Satisfied that the creature was dead, he climbed , removed his knifes , cleaned them on the creature before he booted it out of the tree, leaving the corpse on the trail, to deter other such interlopers that unwelcome guests were not welcome in the forest of Doriath.

Nargothrond and the House of Bëor

Feredir wiped off the dark beastblood from his sword. He looked around the dim forest and saw the carnage that had taken place. Cries from fading elves mixed with the screams of dying monstrosities rang the air. They had to chase down the survivors as quick as possible. Feredir had spent enough time in Taur-im-Duinath to know these creatures were very intelligent and sly. They were led by a clever beast of a warg. Feredir's Elves had found the creatures besieging a small hub of Laiquendi. The animals had stood their ground and gave battle killing many elves in the process. Two hours the bloodshed had taken before the enemy commander fled the field. Well it would look like a flight but Feredir knew better. They had retreated. The Nargothrondrim commander sheated his elven steel and gathered his men. Now the hunt would begin.

The Elves appreciate the lther elves help during that seige, and a victory is imminent in the south.
We cannot find the faction leader of the evil forces, but a city was taken, and the caves south will be eventually taken, thus, eliminating the evil from those lands.

Problem is the cities are still healing, and the norther territories are under enemy control

The Dawrves are also in need of aid, aid the elves hope to give as payment for all the help they gave us.

The lands south of sirion continue to be ravaged and burned by the marauding hordes of orcs and beasts. A second wave of armies from Angband march south as well. Another town of Doriath is burned to the ground by one of the vanguard armies.

The horde of dragons and drakes made their final push againts the Great Halls of Belegost. The dwarven settlement was surrounded prior the attack and while they knew, they stand no chance againts this large enough forces of evil, they atleast vowed to buy enough time, that some of their people can escape through secret pathways and so, their legacy will not be destroyed in this battle. They succeeded in their plan, as now many dwarves escaped with their newly appointed king and formed a horde, so that they can find a new home, if the dragons doesn't catch up to them, after they finished nestling in their new cavern, defiling the dwarven halls of Belegost.

    The next faction, Doriath: https://1drv.ms/u/s!AiWJ2Nmu_LjIhRQN...O6pwW?e=7Cdb7b

The remaining two sons have been forced to flee from their hiding, and are now wondering south-westward. The hordes of Morgoth have delayed their killing blow, for seemingly no cause. No cause but their own do the Nôldor now see clearly, for an oath, dark and terrible, is still on their shoulders.

The lands of once proud House of Bór have been walked over by the darkness. Now, homeless and directionless, the last remaining host preys on the weak, and suffers not from mercy.

Their grievance and hatred towards the betrayers, Ulfgang's house, has only been fueled by these small raids. Soon the Men of the East will clash once more. Only ruin will follow the two Houses

The forest swayed in the gentle breeze , the night began with the smell of smoke on the wind, as lights began to appear at the forests edge around the settlement of Methed-en-glad and the men and edges that stood guard on the stronghold shouted their alarms to all within , that the enemy approached. The smell of fear within the stronghold was clear, as no real enemies had really entered the forest of Nivrim as it lay within the boundaries of Girdle of Melian , and as such no foe could enter unless it could match the strength of Melian herself, and there were not many that could do such a feat, thus the alarm for the defenders.

Dark shapes moved in the edge of the forest highlighted by carried torches , like the coming of a swarm of fireflies in the distance and the sounds of wardrums began to fill the air, with howls of goblins, orcs and other foul things, the men their eyes all afear, gripped their rough made weapons ever tighter, as the elven guard within prepared themselves in full armour to resist the attack of darkness on the western borders of Doriath. The drums became louder and louder, the swarming dark figures ever more numerous , and the stronghold appeared to be surrounded by the shear number of moving figures appeared daunting and terrifying. But the commander of the joint elven and men forces, Polengodur , raised high his shining axe and shouted for the defenders to hold fast, as the garrison within the stronghold scuttled here and there to take their positions.

The drums of the orcs began to beat at a faster pace, and the figures at the end of the trees began to move faster now, coming into range, as elven light archers unleashed arrows in a torrent of firepower, cutting short companies of orcs and goblins in midrun with weapons held high, their lifes cut short, by arrows taking them in the throat , eye or head , killing them instantly, dropping them were there ran but movements before. Predominately most of the attackers swarming out from the trees were those orcs and goblins that had left the mountains to follow the dark powers, but there were some heavily armoured clad men , who were interspersed with the orc rabble, that stood tall and strong in the mixture of the horde. Ignoring their losses the orcs and goblins finally reached missile range of their own and began to fire back, in a never ending war of attrition, where goblin after goblin were struck down with arrows ,only to have three more arrive to take their place, in time , the bowfire of the elves began to diminish as losses began to mount and the danger of the goblin fire forced them to retreat deeper into the stronghold to take better covered positions.

The orcs and goblins howled at their success , at forcing the elfven archers to retreat and began to chant in their foul language ...

"Golog saar! ...Golog saar! " , they shouted, and the men looked on in dumb founded annoyance until some of the elfs , who knew the dark tongue explained it meant elf-bitter , as a few mountain trolls appeared at the edge of the forest, with giant axes, as they chopped down the last of the trees, to make a path though the edge of the great wood. as the last trees began to fall , they were dragged out of the way, as the goblin chants continued ,with more mountain trolls appeared pulling great ropes as a massive catapult moved into range at the edge of the forest, and many of the armoured clad men began to gather around it , winching the controls back and loading the apparatus.

Woosh went a giant rock , propelled by the giant machine soaring over the stronghold and Polengodur wiped a bead a sweat that emerged from his foehead away, knowing the walls wouldnt stand with such a attack.

"Get the archers back on the forward walls to give covering fire!" , he yelled as he jumped down from the parapet to the ground below , where a company of Elven homeguard who had been equipped with heavy axes was stationed. he shouted out as he walked to the front of their line, ordering the silvan spearmen, who were the predominate forces here, to guard the walls and gates whilst he nodded to a man who had been appointed as a signalman, who took a deep breath and blew his horn in a deep rumbling note, that cut away the chanting and drums of the orks . The elven bowmen returned to walls again and commenced covering fire, despite the odd losses they faced bringing death at a distance back to the darkness.

"For Doriath and Thingol" , cried Polengodur , and gave a slight grin at the insanity he was about to perform, as the great gate was opened , as he and his company ran out into the open ground towards the catapult. The field was filled with dark creatures of all shapes and sizes as they stood mostly in shocked silence, as the elfves moved out amongst them, their great axes catching the light from the torches, making them shine red, as they cut deep into orcish and goblin black blood, which sprayed out everywhere , as the axes rose and fell as the elves formed a arrowhead formation ,cutting there way ever forward.

Another Woosh filled the air, this time with a firery ball of flame, that struck the top of one of the wall, producing howling screams of pain , as a few men defending had been hurled from the wall from the impact ,a few nearby elfs where all aflame from the fire, as they stumbled in their pain and agony , before toppling over the side of the walls ,the catapult crew [there were that close now] jumped in delight at the attack.

"On me!" cried Polengodur as he called for more effort, with more foul things running towards them that died at the edge of elven axes, finally breaking those creatures nearest them ,they turned and ran. Many orks were cutdown as the elfs outpaced them as they moved quickly forward taking full advantage of the moment, clashing finally with the catapult crew , cutting many of them down, as they too broke and ran. But now what to do?, Polengodur thought, as the other enemies were stunned at the sudden reverse but they would'nt have long to do something with this engine of war.

"Axes ! destroy that thing" , pointed Polengodur at the catapalt, as some homeguard took a defensive positions line, others began hammering at the wood, hoping to break this engine of war , with deep biting cuts of the axes. but the howls of ragereturned from the surrounding trees, proving they would have little time left to act,as orcs had reformed and even now struck back ,hammering into the homeguard defensive line as combat began again, this time with the elves defending. Polengodur knew this was taking too long, looked around and saw some of the unlit balls of flame they had for ammunition lay nearby, ordered them stacked around the catapalt , calling out to the homeguard to be ready to fight there way back to the stronghold.

"Fighting withdrawal in formation!" he cried to the beleaguered homeguard , as the elven line began to withdraw , footstep by footstep , axes lifting and dropping, keeping the fight going with the ever eager orcs , as they kept up the pressure on the elven troops. Polengodur himself picked up one of the still burning fallen torches that lay nearby unnoticed on the forest bed and hurded it into the flame ammunition, taking a quick grin of satisfaction as it began to burn , producing flame that rapidly spread to others, lighting up the area in the dark, as the catapult was soon all aflame.

Some of the homeguard had made another second , closer line of defence, and Polengodur shouted that those fighting ,holding back the orcs to take one more attack to then run behind this new line of defence, and then make another yet another line of defence, hoping to hopscotch between retreating lines with half a company on each defence, there way back to the gates. But just as they had struck the orcs and moved quickly in a brief run , back behind this new line, which the orcs surged into, the drums beat ever louder, as the sounds of wolfs, and wargs filled the air, mounted goblins rode in, sweeping towards the beleaguered elfs, Polengodur panicked knowing they all would be cutoff outside the gate.

"Back ! ", he cried , "get back..everyone back inside!" , as the elven control of the situation began to fray. Elven bowmen on the walls began to direct their fire at this new threat, which began to bring down wolf and warg alike, but the covering fire began to diminish as the goblin missile troops moved back in range behind the advancing orc line , taking their toil on the brave archers.

The elfs broke and ran heading for the gate, where a few elven spearmen had made a new small line to help them get back in, but soon the snarls of wargs was heard all aroun dPolengodur as he ran, hearing yells of pain or screams of agony, as many of armoured homeguard elfs, were snatched in midrun back ,some from a gaping mouth of a giant warg, or pounced upon from the rear and bought to ground. It was less than half his force, that managed the retreat back inside the stronghold , the small spearguard was sacrificed to hold off the wargs, whilst the rest of his troops got in, the gates where closed behind them ,the gate reinforced as the homeguard took gaping deep breaths safe inside,as the healers moved amongst them and begun their work.

There was a great gash in his arm from one of the wargs, and he strapped a cloth over it, reducing the bleeding, as the weary commander climbed the steps to oversee the situation, his heart was elated when he saw the catapult still alight, the ropes all burnt away, its wooden beams blackened, but his face quickly soured, as he saw the mountain trolls begin to pickup greats clods of the rich forest soil and shower them onto the burning wood. Some foul intelligence was at work, he thought, as trolls were not so savvy to act so , as the flames across the artillery first flickered, then dimmed and then went out. The catapult was still intact, but unusable for now, he thought, that would give him and his troops some more time , to wait for reinforcements to act, for surely King Thingol would send some.

He slumped down besides the wall , as troops moved around with their duties to perform, some archers still left gathered more arrows, the homeguard [what was left of it] formed a small scratch company below, ready to stop any breaches in the walls, but his the morale of the troops was still high, yes they had taken some losses, but they had held. A man knelt near the commander offering him , his waterskin, and normally he would refuse such a thing, especially from a mans hand, but as he poured the cold liquid into his mouth, it tasted all the world like nectar.

The drums sound began to lessen and quieten , and the trolls, orcs&goblins began to pull back into the darkness of the trees, and Polengodur pulled himself slowly , to his feet, to look out to see what was happening. Firstly it seemed that nothing really was , but soon there was a unearthly fiery glow, surrounded by smoke that got ever closer with a slight'en'd redden glow to it.Soon the pounding of deliberate heavy steps , was heard, as if some giant thing approached but the smoke grew in size obscuring what it was ,until a few minutes closer, a demonic face, poked out from the smoke and flame , and let out a ghostly roar, with flames shooting out of its very mouth.

Mens knees buckled and many fell to their knees weeping bitterly that there end had come, and even the elves began to mouth forgotten songs of horror at such a vestige, as the massive footsteps began to get faster and faster, the very ground began to rock with the weight and power of this very creature. Some of the commanders underlings began to shout at Polengodur , asking for them to tell them what to do , but the elfs gaze was fixed on the approaching devil itself, as time seemed to slow for the elf, the surrounding elfs pointed but he didnt seem to hear as if they were in a different dimension,as the creature approached without hindrance, it finally stood before the wall in its full massive flaming form , as it roared again.

As it finished its roar, Polengodur finally shook off his rabbit like stupor , "Fire!" he cried {a little irony there perhaps] as the last remaining bowmen unleashed what little firepower they had, as the creature lifted its massive two handed hammer which was alll aflame, smashing away some arrows, like flicking away raindroplets from the trees. Some arrows did strike the creature , most bouncing away off its thick hide, others penetrating , doing little if no damage but were burnt off by the tremendous heat that the creature emitted.

The Balrog took a few more steps close to the gate, which began to smoke and catchfire at the creatures proximity,&knowing that there was sure to be a problem at that area, the remainder of the homeguard ran towards the gate and put their weight against it, but the balrog raised its horrendously large hammer, swinging it sideways with all its gruesome power, punching its way through the gate, throwing what was left of the homeguard around like so much deadwood inside the stronghold, hurling them into structures, where they lay silent and unmoving. The gate lay in pieces, very little left hanging from hinges , with a giant hole in it, as the Balrog raised its hammer finishing the job, and broke a far piece of the gatehouse too.

Most of the orcs and goblins had moved forwards again, their movement generally unnoticed with the flaming giant attracting all the attention, and with the second hammer blow, they swarmed forward, flooding though the broken gate , into the stronghold . Men and elfves struggled to either put forward what defence they could ,against overwhelming numbers and some tried to escape....all tried, but all failed, as the stronghold came crashing down, its defenders broken but Polengodur didnt see the end , his unseeing eyes were fixed at distant shores, as he lay upon the stairs leading to the battlements surrounded on all sides by many bodies of orcs, where his body had been pierced by many weapons , some still in his body , their owners cutdown and lying all around him...

Nargothrond and the House of Bëor

"That's the last of them." an Elf right of me said. It was true that in the vicinity no beast was still moving. We fell on them as they were still recovering from the previous battle. For now the forest was cleansed of these monsters but I feel that they will be back. I picked up my spear lying on the ground, it had been wrested from my control by a large wolf. Luckily for me I always have a small dagger of Noldor steel on my person. The blade had sliced the wolf's throat as if it had been made of silk. It was time to move on.

Redemund was one of the many wandering men of the House of Bëor. Over the years after the destruction of Dorthonion, Redemund had accrued a crew of his folk and had been wandering the pass of Sirion attacking small Orc patrols and disrupting the Dark Lord's supply lines. No great deeds, just the small contributions a couple of Men could muster. Recently the Dragon had laid waste to the lands of the Haladin, Brethil. Many of Haleth's Folk had sought refuge in the lands to the south, granted to them by the Nargothrondi King Orodreth. Some stayed and joined bands like Redemund's and waged war on the hated foe ceaselessly. Redemund and his allies found their new target near Cabed-en-Aras. A camp of ruffians, allies of the Dark Lord who betrayed their own kind for profit. It was time to teach those bastards a lesson.
