The last of their original settlement of the followers of Feanor has been overrun, claiming another nesting ground for future dragonkind generations.

Glaurung pushed more and more towards the rich, untouched southern elven lands. Not knowing yet, that he is clear towards the capital of Nargothrond. However before that he reached Amon Ethir, another obstacle, that needs to be pushed away and that is what Glaurung did. The settlement had a good amount of troops defending it, but the sheer might of Glaurung nullified it almost completely. The walls stood no chance and after several breaches appeared the brood of glaurung quickly swarmed inside slaughtering everyone, that still stood on their legs. In a half a day, Amon Ethir has been taken over and most of the population has been either killed or eaten up.

Dark tales there were ,despite the brief respite of some of the lands of brethil , as rumors that another two hordes of Melkor had breached the pass of Sidion commanded by Balrogs and that they prepared to move southwards or elsewhere . The news caused some terror and doubt in the Forces of Doriath and many prepared to retreat back to the main forest , the Girdle of Melian and safety, after calls for reinforcements had been unrequited. Commander's forwarded messages to the Gondolin forces warning them of the new arrivals in the northwest , repaired what little they could of the defences, leaving small garrisons barely sufficient to hold the area, and asked what population remained, to head either southwards or southeastery direction to safety, to escape the inevitable attack from the north.

The dwarfs in the east, were sorely pressed and treasures that had be gained from the revival of the brethil towns was loaded onto wagons and sent eastwards to the dwarfs, to help them in their effort against the shadow in the mountains, as a result of this monetary loss, there was little in the Coffers of Doraiths treasury to make a grand effort for a fight in the forests of Brethil, in the high command of doriath and all agreed , to withdraw their main strength to hold the main forest, inside the Girdle of Melian , strangely the king was absent from most of the meetings of the high command , reportedly taken ill , [or so they said] but most thought it was that he was not in his right mind.

Nargothrond and the House of Bëor

The Dragon lies on my doorstep and I have no illusion that he doesn't have knowledge of the whereabouts of the gate to the heart of my kingdom. All I have feared has come to pass and I foresee not only my own demis but also that of all the Ñoldor's efforts. Only now do I realise the severity of the Valar's warning. In fool's wake we boldly came to Middle-Earth filled with righteous rage and purpose to defeat the fiercest of enemies. Long we have fought and for a while we have prospered yet the Black One still sits mightely on his throne under Thangorodrim while we slowly wither. The Ñoldor have failed and with heavy heart I shall go into battle. Still into battle I shall go and stand against the evil until my last breath. Do I have regrets? Many yet I ultimately do not regret coming here. We have done many great things for Beleriand and performed great deeds that shall be sung till world's end. May the Valar take pity on us as we humbly enter the Halls of Mandos.

The elven forces are organizing. The elven forces also saw that thei elven friends decided to, by themselves, go and seige the enemy Ulfang capital. this is an extreme and poorly corrdinated attack, mainly bc they could had asked for the house of bor to assiste the siege, or to wait for laegrim reinforcements. there is a chance the seige is broken with a sally out, and a future seige might not be possible due to thise extreme lack of communication between the factions....

The elven generals were also able to take another city, which not only had a spy go isnide, but it seems the walls were down. there is little chance they will survive, but they went in for the sack and to delay the balrog forces

The plan now is to try and create a solide defence force in case that Melkor sends several waves down south. and to keep harrasing the supply trains of said armies.

a enemy diplomat was also assasinated

Feeling the scent of the elves and their buried riches, hidden somewhere not far, Glaurung pushes even more towards south, directly heading to the capital of Nargothrond, where the elves are preparing a last stand againts his power. A true showdown will happen between the forces of the Dark Lord and those, that still try with all their hope to resist his rule. In mere hours Glaurung and all his smaller children, that follows his commands will start the assault on the elven capital and the elves have only a slight thread of hope to repel such an attack, however the outcome isn't set in stone yet. However this battle ends, it will be a major turning point for the victor.

The two Balrog groups continue to hold their position and what appeared to receive more reinforcements from the north, perhaps giving those in the forest of brethil some breathing room for the moment, as the peoples of the forest of doriath overhaul their military organisation. But all eyes are to the southern areas, where the dragons continues its rampage heading ever closer to the underground halls of Nargothrond , where the impressive defences of the peoples of Finrod Felagund were about to be tested by one of the mightiest beasts ever to walk in middle earth. It now seems that the once proud firstborn, children of the stars were now finding that other beasts were taking dominance of the lands, and there was little that could be done about despite the horrendous sacrifices made, as the dragon moved ever southwards, seemingly unstoppable.

The next few seasons will surely shape the fortunes of the elven people for the foreseeable future, and all eyes are on the battle that is to come as perhaps the best of the firstborn will taken upon one of the frightening of beasts to walk the earth.

Cirdan stood high on the wooded heights north of Nargothrond. His command lay before him. Thousands of Elves drawn up in ranks within the woods, clad in bright armor and armed with fine spears and swords. These were the best warriors of the Falathrim. Some of them had faced the dragon before, and knew the terror of the burning battlefield. They would fight well to defend the great city, for if Nargothrond fell, then their homes could be threatened.

Cirdan had the northern flank, while the Elves of Nargothrond took the center, garrisoning their home city, and south of the gate Lord Faeron and his warriors from the southern havens had taken position. The scouts had reported the horde of drakes, led by the great dragon himself, were fast approaching, and battle would be met today. It would be a war of attrition, with the Elves attempting to bottle the drakes into kill zones in the forest, while avoiding Glaurung. Once all of the drakes were killed, or routed, if the things even had a fear of death, then they could attempt to isolate the great dragon, and bring him down. That was the plan, but plans rarely went the way the generals thought it would. Cirdan had learnt that fact only a few seasons ago.

To the south he saw smoke rising, and he ordered his forces forward. The battle would commence.

Nargothrond and the House of Bëor

    The Dragon Comes!

The moment they had all feared had finally come to pass. Glaurung lay at the doorstep of Nargothrond, with fire in his breath and malice in his eyes. A host of dragonkin accompanied the already collassal dragon, Pet of Morgoth. The smell of his foul kin was the first sign of the monsters' approach. Smoke could be seen rising from the last defence at Amon Ethir, but a stone's throw from the hidden gate. Orodreth girded himself for battle. Having consulted with Círdan the Elves came up with a plan. The Falathrim from the Havens would lead an assault upon the dragonkin in the forests surrounding the cave-city, luring them to cross the river Narog. Once bogged down Nagrothrondi would spring from cover to assail the vile beasts in the river where their fire might be quenched. The Narog flowed deep and strongly. Meanwhile Orodreth sent a light force to leave the city from a secret passage and assail Glaurung from the rear once they were engaged. Orodreth knew that Glaurung could be brought to flight, Azaghal made sure that the flght of Glaurung at the Battle of Unnumbered Tears was well-remembered. The plan was dangerous and it could mean the total annihilation of the Ñoldor of Nargothrond and the Teleri from the Havens yet Orordreth and Círdan saw this as the best opportunity to defeat the fire-breathing kin. The Elves put their trust in Ulmo.

So it began. Falathrim arrows shot from the shadows and pricked the dragonkin until they looked like great scaly porcupines. From the city they could hear the Falathrim do battle with the dragons. Flames rose and set the trees ablaze. Some of the bolder and youngers creatures, whose hide had not hardened quite as much were put down by the precise aiming of the Teleri elves, who favoured the bow over any other weapon. The bulk of Glaurung's forces did not seem to move to meet them and it looked like the plan would fail. Then Glaurung let out a roar so loud it rocked the cave-city to its core. The Dragon's Ire had been provoked. Swift as the crow he launched himself forward and his kin followed suit. The ground shook as the dragons charged. By this point hundreds of Elves had already sacrificed themselves to bait Glaurung into charging. Many dragonkin lay dead in the forest and in his charge Glaurung grew more wroth with every pounding step. They did not hesitate to brave the waters of the Narog, flinging themselves in a wash of rage to get to the arrogant Elves. A wall of steam rose from the river settling down in a thick fog. The river steamed so hard that Orodreth feared the waters might be permanently quenched. This was their moment. The King of Nargothrond ordered the charge. Ñoldorin in shining armour, armed with gleaming swords and spears charged into the fog where their enemy waited. Following close behind was Círdan and the Falathrim brandishing fell axes.

The dragons were caught offguard, never suspecting the Elves to meet them in the field let alone in the river. Glaurung in his impetous had been lured into a trap and he realised it now. The Narog was cold and deep this time of year and the flames within him had been temporarely been dowsed. The Elves fell on his kin with undying ferocity. They hacked at everything that might harm them. The cries from his brethren that were cut down ignited the fires in him once more. Flames burst forth through the steam. Screams filled the air as Elves were scorched to a crisp. Slowly but his dragons were pushing the Elves back. Some had already made landfall on the other side and were causing devestation among the defenders' ranks, especially among the light-armoured Falathrim. Then the stroke of doom fell on them. A force of Elves had joined the battle from the rear. Most of the dragons were still in the water and were beginning to panic. Glaurung cursed. They had outwitted him. Morgoth's Pet let out a roar and made back for the hither shore. Luckily for him the force that had attacked from the rear had been made up of lightly armoured forces otherwise he might never have survived. Glaurung broke through the encirclement and beamed for Amon Ethir where he would lie and plot his revenge.

The Elves had won this day!
