I got this turn less than 24h before my flight to Ibiza for summer vacations where i didnt even take my PC. I started the turn yesterday.

None of the turns are easy or simple. In this one for example, I need to win 2 battles. One i will need to spam reload. I just spent 2hours destroying stuff to see if I could bribe the enemy. Or figuring how to bribe him (didnt work). Sometimes Im to blame for the delay. Sometimes its unlucky timming like this one. But know the reason I dont send quicker aint bc i Dont care, its the opposite. I care too much where i spend easily over 12h playing both turns, and sometimes that takes a while.... anyhow sorry and will be sent "soon".

Another season, and another stalling the enemy.
The Dwarves were once again pushed back and sieged, and once again were able to lift the siege. Mnay men were lost, but the unit pools are starting to recover some of the more powerful units. The old dwarven capital is secure. Another enemy army comes, but the Durin folk are ready to defend themselves.

In the elven arena, both the dwarves and Boer men sent gold to the elves to bribe the enemy, but even with destorying buildings, that would not be possible. The extra cash was later used to bribe 3 powerful dragons, which, maybe too expensive, could had recked havok on the lands

The main issue was the enemy seiging the city. This was expected, and many generals had already died defending that city... including the heir. Boer men sent their army. And the Elven faction Leader, who 2 turns ago went back home to raise an army, forced march his army and arrived. Some elves from nearby cities also sent troops. Those cities might now face some unrest, but all help was needed.

In the way over to the battle, some very weak rebles were killed and a man of the hour was selected.

Problem was it was a very bloodly battle, and many generals died... not including the ones that died the previous turn....

After the battle, and already set up last turn. some men came from the battle lead by a general that from the previous big battle. That general collected the anchillaries from the fallen generals, and was able to finally kill the enemy faction leader. Such victory was and objective for a while now, and the elves are finally happy. Although they lost a lot and expected to be able to achieve it a few turns earlier.

On the other side, a city was beign seiged. a unit nearby in the forrest, and a general from the city that siege was lifted arrived to the area. The general was too weak to participate in the battle, but some mercs nearby decided to lend their aid. and were able to lift the siege (not correct results)

Some other small battles took place.

To end the battles, a general decided to go on a suicide mission
4 orc leaders where still alive. they retreated near they northern army. But the elves wanted to make sure they would die.
They attacked at night, not making the dragons nearby able to help in time

(missing results but fairly easy battle)

2 of the 4 orc leaders died.
Problem is when daylight comes, the elven army will be killed by the dragons. Hopefully many are able to retreat back to safety.

As always, several sabotage was done in enemy lines. Hoping to stall the enemy relentless attacks.

This seems to be a positive turn for the Elven forces and their allies. The Boer people gave all they had, and thanks to them the orcs were defeated (and like 30+ reloads). The front lines were pushed back to where they used to be a few turns ago.
The elven forces hopped to achieve this sooner, but the orcs and dragons played well and pushed hard. Many elven forces were killed and many general lost.
The Elven forces still have a solid army, and reinforcements are coming. Aditionally with low upkeep, many improvements were made with the extra cash, and soon the unit pools will be producing once again troops. The forest in the south are already sending men up north.

We still need to see what the dragons do in their turn. But most of the flank is secured, and the faction leader is capable of protecting the new cities.

Now it will be a race. Can the elves put solid defenses in the new areas before more waves come down on them.

Words of encouragement were send to Doriath, as they need to hold the line longer.
The Elves hope that they will get some time to breath, and maybe eventually reclaim more lands of elven brothers.
The Drawves on the other hand, arent no longer facing extintion, but arent even close to be able to push the enemy, especially when some dragon remain hidden in the forests

nice job :O the fact that dragons are bribed with hordes of gold is rather fitting and appropriate play [winks]

eheheh i also felt it was expensive, but very fitting that 3 powerful dragons were bribed with gold as roleplay

fun roleplay eheheh. remind me when i was defending Lindon and reloaded so my faction leader defending the city would die, while gaining a victory, bc it was roleplay fun to do

Hi, sorry but there needs to be a replay. Seems Menegroth was taken this turn. I argue that is a main important city for Doriath, and therefore according to the rules, it should NOT be allowed to be taken with a catapult, but, seiged and taken only the following turn

its not against the rule, and remember Menegroth was actually supposed to be sacked actually much earlier by the dwarfs and later by the elfs, by its own account its perhaps had a longer life than in the books...

Either way, everything has its day, and as long as Captain Melon gives a great battle roleplay/tale to send Thingol and the Doriath elfs off into the sunset with a dramatic story end, i will be happy...but remember this story was not a happy one , ultimately

Everyone talking about catapult, seems we missed that Fingolfin needs to be subbed. Turkwafinwe should do it today. Not much to do in the turns anyways, each has 1 settlements... tho perhaps they go horde mode

After the great battle around Menegroth , where the armies of Doriath and the remaining Men of Haldad were utterly decimated , and the gates of Menegroth broken and torn down, the orcs now ran amoke , eager to despoil ,loot the remains of the elfven kingdom, one that had been untarnished from the battle and conflict that had long taken the north. The King, Thingol still lay unconscious , from the heavy blow he had received from one of Balrogs, still unwaken , as the elfs bore his unmoving [but still living body] a little to the west of the battlefield, west of the fortress that was Hirilorn , which was still the last remaining garrison in the centre of the forest . But the kings injuries were to great for him to move far, and the remaining troops built a rough tent around him to protect him against the elements, then building a rough cradle of shrubs and trees branches surrounded by flowers and forest herbs to support the unmoving king, leaving his body horizontal on this green plinth , whilst healers worked around the clock, to bring him back to consciousness, whilst the remainder of his troops dug in , fortifying the position around him.

Lord Lathron , now the only remaining commander in the centre of the forest, who had been bidden to command the defence of Hirilorn[that had been bypassed by the armies of the shadow] looked on over the distant bank as Balrogs [three] and orcs burnt, and desecrated the corpses of the elf's and men that had fought in the battle. Fire , Flame , and screams of pain echo'd in the night as orc's tortured , killed or broke any still living men or elf's on the farbank , elven eyes grew hard and angry at the sounds and sights that bought only disgust at the nature of the enemy. There was little he could do at this point, neither defense of his charge [Hirilorn] or a reckless charge at the enemy across the river , would avail him and his troops . So he left a miniscule guard to defend Hirilorn, moving all his remaining forces, south across the river, and struck at Esgalduin[under occupation of orcs] where elven rangers had taken control of the gatehouses during the night , whilst others warned the commander of their effort.

Uvatha the Horseman was a orc that was used to riding and commanding wargs , wolves but in this he had been sorely served, in being left to garrison Esgalduin with one massive goblin company, one of orcs, and the rest was a hodgepodge of elite troopers from companies which had been ground into dust. The elven army approached quickly during the light of day,its banners flying proudly in the wind, whilst most of his troops were still tired in the light of sun. The elfs were upon the settlement before they had time to react, gates were opened, and elfven archers had scaled the defenses , shooting arrows left and right, and in the midst of this the the goblins panicked and began to flee, starting a rout. Some of the more elite troopers tried to hold back the tide of angry elven warriors eager for blood but their numbers were too small , and they were cut away in minutes as the elfs surged numbers against them. The rear gate to the west of the settlement, had equally been taken by the elven rangers, blocking even the last vestige of retreat for the forces of shadow, even the goblins and others that fled ,could not break past their position before the majority of the attacking elven host hit them in the rear, and cut them to pieces leaving no evil survivors to report back to the balrogs.

Seeing the writing on the wall, Uvatha, found a small wine barrel amongst the detritus , inside of a destroyed elven shop and hid himself inside, pulling the lid over the top, hoping that he could hide this moment out, until the elfves had past by, and the armies of the darklord had returned, but a female elven scout heard his desperate painful breathing on her patrol and lifted the lid of the barrel, showing the white eyes and shadowed face of the desperate orc leader. He pleaded for mercy , but there was no mercy left in this green elf's eyes, her sword plunged down and down again, multiple times, each time producing a scream of pain , that got quieter and quieter after each blow, until there was no more. Eventually the hard eyed elf, wiped her eyes, then flickered her sword, to the side, the black ichor thrown from the blade, as she moved on into the city.

    ----------------------

Beleg Strongbow had raced forward on horseback from the south, just reaching the southern bank near Menegroth hoping to fight in the battle for the kingdom, but it was not to be, for the battle was joined before he arrived, his sharp elven eyes, saw most of the battle from a distance and was forever haunted at the sights , and memories that he forever bore, but knowing that nothing could be done, he saw to help a few wounded elven soldiers that had reached the fort retreating from the edge of the battle.

The next morning, breathing the air that had turned cold, he closed his eyes and faced the fact that the kingdom of Doriath was no more, breathing out once more, he left once the rays of the morning sun breached the tree's line, first saddling ,then mounting his horse then turned back to the south, and disappearing into legend...

Wanna point out did both turns in less than 12h

Some dwarves were wondering around, and saw a force of drakes that attacked their friends south. they realized where those dragon come from, by using spies, and took the small fort. They dont wish to claim lands this far from the mountains, and there are some elves who wish to go east. therefore that city was handed to some woodsmen to prepare the cities for the elves to arrive at a later date

2 counter attacks were made vs the armies that attacked the dwarves the previous turns

    ---

with the help of the Bor men, some orcs were defeated. this shows the strong cooperation that there is among both factions.

some previous defeated orc leaders were once again attacked. they both survived and fled to a city nearby. there were then meet with another defeated general. due to the fact it was in enemy territory, and with evil armies nearby, the armies decided to disband as to scatter and survive.

the sabotage plans continue in order to hinder the enemy.

News of Doriath fall come as a shock... and rumor is that those armies will remai around the city sacking them
No major battle took place, but several preparations where made.

The Darves are finally able to recruit some strong units, which will come useful vs future waves.

The elves finally have a good position, they are keeping the enemy far away due to their strong army. they are reinforcing the cities, and hopefully preparing a 2nd army. They are with some financial problems (due to some roleplay down south east). and no longer have as much gold as before. yet they still have a healthy amount of cash coming in every turn. They also have the dwarves that are now sending them some cash every turn
