Default Rome cavalry

Hello,
I have a few questions regarding Roman cavalry. In my current save I'm not able to recruit Equites extraordinarii latini. Were they removed or it is just bug or am I doing something wrong...I checked all buildings and none of them enables the recruit of them. I found them pretty decent in my previous saves however if I'm not able to get them what other cavalry do you suggest? Equites and other cavalry which I'm able to recruit looks bad :-/

Thank you

Look at your cities. Did you change something?

I've got questions along the same lines. In the providence of Venetia and the settlement Ariminum you have two options for the town center in the Allies tree, Curia Hostilla or Civitas Italica (Allied state). With the Curia Hostilla you get a better garrison and faction imperium but it looks like you miss out on a few troops including Eguites Extraordinarii. I can't remember exactly but I think the State controlled and Allied line were the ones with the best troops in the Civitas Italica tree. Are there any advantages of choosing the Curia Hostilla other than that? When I see something that looks like a "special" building line for a settlement it makes me think I need it but am I missing out on the best calvary option or can I find them elsewhere? My favorite archers are in the islands and I can't remember the name but it looks like they are only available if you choose the Providential capital tree in the main settlement(they had the highest damage that I've seen so far). Or are there better options that I haven't seen or unlocked?

Also - double check technologies. Upon the many reforms Rome has with technologies, units constantly disappear or get upgraded.

This is the beauty of what we tried to create. There is no right/wrong answer to anything you chose. Based on where you are at in your empire, you have options that can benefit you or destroy you if you make the wrong choice. Most of units that are tied to Rome are AOR type units, so keep that in mind. all the way from the first turn to end of game with imperial legions, you will have AOR type recruitment. But different buildings and governments offer you different things. I do, however, need to build a map for AOR of other units (legions are complete and uploaded here). In time, that will occur.

I'm slowly picking up on things and I've just restarted so now I'm trying to make sure I know the path I've chosen before I get so far along that it takes 20 turns to undo. I've got the Legion recruitment chart printed out so now it's just a matter of what I feel like I can and can't do without. I'm new to total war and I went with Attila first so I'm pretty pumped about seeing the legions in action. Looks like everyone agrees the battles in Attila are better so I'm really glad you guys were able to put this game in this historical setting. The AI is so much better now as well in battles and in diplomacy. I will say the faction leaders really like a little trade now... you can pick up puppet states a lot easier now but that's not always a good thing to take on depending on how it plays out so imo no change needed. I did have problems in my first save with too much Senate control though, and none of this is criticism because you never know what the developers intended...but Once I realized I wasn't able to recruit legions(my error) I was trying a few things and skipping through turns and I went from around 98% control to 5% in about 10 turns. I wasn't giving away any titles so I know that must have had something to do with it, but I'm interested to see how that plays out this time around. really enjoying this trip back in time guys, cheers

I'm back with another question... All of the Equites Extraordinarii Cavalry disappears from the recruitment pool with the SOCII Cohort tech. I can upgrade my current different types of equites Extraordinarii to the Extraordinarii with the black shields but they are not available to recruit.

It's not going to ruin the campaign or anything but I'm curious if it was intended and if so the tech shouldn't say "unlocks recruitment" of Equites Extraordinarii.
