How do i edit my starting general's names

ive gone through the strat file and edited name's like William(england leader) to Marku. but when it comes to loading the game up the name is blank. What have i missed?. I have no problem changing the faction leader's age from 40 to 30.

Does Marku appear under England in descr_names ?

So long as youre making changes to England and no other faction (other factions' names can be found in the file) and the new name appears in this list, you are fine.

Edit 2: Btw Marku is not on the list, thats why it didnt work.

Hi, im trying to do the same thing as Marku and change the leaders names. If the name isn't on the list, then where can i find the list to add more names?

i've tried looking through descr_strat but couldnt find that list, that you posted.

The file is called "descr_names.txt". You should be able to find it in your data folder.
