Slow AI Turn times

Thanks AE team for an amazing mod. I respect all the effort that has gone into it. Personally I am not playing it as the AI turn time grinds out to 40-50 seconds. Such slow turn times put me off the more recent TW Grand Campigns. Can anything be done to relieve this ? Perhaps an AE LITE version ??

I remember having to wait 5-10mn with Medieval 2 mods sometimes
Technically it is a greatly enhanced game where you process 100~ faction moves/decisions in under a minute.

Yes good rig. AoC turns are ~ 15 seconds. 1st Triumverate mod for Attila GC takes ~ 20 sec per AI turn so some complexity that AE has added seems to be the cause.

I'm using a good ol' HDD from 200BC, and while my ai turn times are okay, the loading times are horrible. My "solution": I play in borderless windowed mode, and I just alt/tab to FB or whatever I read.
