    Default What's missing from AE?

With the recent update of DEI for Rome 2, it made me realize that many of the features DEI has would fit into AE very well and may seriously add to the experience. One of the largest things I feel is missing is population; for DEI you have Peoples of Rome (P++) which is an extremely important part of DEI. Something I loved with the old total wars is the effect of using one city as your recruitment center and how that could seriously affect the growth of that city since you are sapping the manpower. Currently in AE I have seen nothing that indicates population of an area other than the urbanization factor ancillary.

Attila TW has some of the best battles I've had in total wars due to the AI being somewhat competent, siege battles actually being fun and sometimes seriously challenging, and smooth performance. Something that keeps me playing AE rather than DEI. I hope to see many more mods incorporated into AE, as well as the development of submods for it that will keep the community alive here far longer than if it was just the mod.

Thanks for the mod AE Dev team, I really enjoy it and all the nostalgic feels it gives me!

    Hey,

Manpower is a planned feature however due to personal time constraints it was never completed. A prototype version of manpower code is actually included with AE, but isn't run or being used at the moment as it is unfinished.

Another thing which I think is missing is unit aesthetics. Granted, a lot of the units look damned good in AE, but from my last playthrough of DEI, I thought that the new Polybian roman units in the New version of DEI blows away the aesthetics of the Roman troops in AE. There are also a few other units that could use a faint 'touch-up' in my opinion.

One of the things that I really liked with DEI is the new Cardiophylax which the Hastati are equipped with. It looks far better than the Vanilla version.

This is one of the best mods, I can't think of any other game or mods, for exception of a few original Rome mods that were so engaging. I'm slowly developing carpal tunnel from motherin' clicking so much. Thank you and all the best.

I think the faction rosters need to get fleshed out more, like Armenia for example.
