    Default Best Albums of 2006

Post your top 10 (or whatever) albums of 2006, with a description of some sort, if you choose so (I've just put the genres, for now, because I'm lazy ).

    Genre: Alternative Rock/Progressive Rock/Other

    2) None More Black: This Is Satire
    Genre: Punk Rock/Indie Rock

Genre: Rock/"Cabaret Punk"/Other (punk-ish rock with all sorts of horns; totally un-ska-like)

    4) The Bouncing Souls: The Gold Record
    Genre: Punk Rock/Pop-Punk

    5) Strike Anywhere: Dead FM
    Genre: Punk Rock/Melodic Hardcore Punk

    6) The Walkmen: A Hundred Miles Off

    8) The Lawrence Arms: Oh! Calcutta!
    Genre: Punk Rock

    9) Greg Graffin: Cold As the Clay

    1) Gold Record: Bouncing Souls
    2) The Crane Wife: The Decemberists
    3) Rockford: Cheap Trick
That is all I have right now. My CD collection is a mess, and I will rummage through that soon.

The Gold Record was outstanding, and The Crane Wife was certainly one of the better albums released.

    3) Muse - Black Holes and Revelations

    4) Gliss - Love the Virgins

Problem is for me, I didn't actually get round to buying that many albums that came out last year!

Found another one: Love is my Religion--Ziggy Marley
EDIT: I also am happy for Mighty Mouse and Cee Lo for selling a huge album, but I don't like the pop-status that "Crazy" has gotten. I doubt most who bought it listen to the whole thing, but I really liked St. Elswhere.

Oasis - Stop The Clocks, Sort of a 'Best Of' album I know, but a big chunk of the finest music of the nineties on 2 disks can't be passed up. Listening to this makes me feel instantly better when I'm unhappy.

Muse - Black Holes and Revations, Cracker, I canny fault this, just love their sound. Knights of Cydonia, Supermassive Black Hole, Invincible and Starlight are particularly good.

Kasabian - Empire, They fancy themselves as the new Oasis of Britpop, but I'm not convinced yet. This album is still great. Tracks like Empire, Shoot the Runner and Me Plus One never get old.
