    Default Income Playing as Rome

    Hello Modders,

The economy was very challenging in my initial 20 turns as Rome .

I started building Mint Coin buildings on my settlements and suddenly after 25 turns or So , my income started skyrocketing .

I have 3 Full stack armies and get an income of 20,000 talents during summer and 3000 during winter.

Is this Normal ? ,,, BTW , am playing on Normal/Normal

    Thanks

Seems I'm having a similiar experience. Money was tight initially but now I'm making 23,000 a turn.

However you can beat with that. You just should adjust your economy on a top of +30.000. So if some of those inscrutable mechanics make your income to be reduced on 25.000, you'll still have positive income. I've never had an income drop bigger than that after about 12 hours of gameplay

The income is sometimes stable, other times it changes insanely (went from -5.000 to +23.000 in 2 or 3 turns despite I did almost nothing, just changed a couple of edicts.)

Same here. I'm at year 140 BC and have 8 full legions and 2 almost full fleets. My income is about 60000 in summer and 30000 in winter. I have about 1000000 in my treasury. I have no financial worries. The most I make is with trade. About 90000 per turn.

Kind of Worrying. I think i need to restart my campaign with Very Hard.

Only the initial 8 hours + was very immersive and challenging. like i need to think tactically and create an Army (Immersive enough that Sometimes i think that the Senate is giving me only limited legions to do an offensive campaign). But Now i could spam 10 + Stacks and Conquer the world at ease .

I did the same thing on VH/VH. I just take a few regions, rest a while, put 100,000 K in the bank, take another few territories, rest a bit steamroll with mercenaries.
Shogun 2, no thanks I will stick with Kingdoms SS.

The income in this mod is very good imo. During the height of my polybian era I rested comfortably on 200k in the bank with ca. 15k income but as borderclashes and wars sprang up and my territories stretched thin I've only got about 50k with an income fluxuating from 5-10k on good summers and as low as -5k during the winter. Makes things very interesting.

Yes it is entirely normal at the moment. If you build your resource (gold, silver, timber, iron, fish etc) buildings to level 3 as well then your income will go even higher.

I'm in a similar situation to you, albeit with 8 full stack armies and a full stack navy and still bringing in 19k per turn.

This is one of the reasons I'm arguing in favour of army upkeep and maintenance costs increasing with the level of Imperium - it shouldn't just be a case of rich get richer and the game stops being an economic challenge once you secure more than three or four provinces

Now with All my money I could "DO NOTHING" because of the latest Update Bug

Economic balance is one of, if not THE main, priority of one of the main modders on the team right now. If you read the Gameplay Guide and go back to the mint building you will soon understand that it has an incredibly positive impact on the economy of a faction.

Sit tight, help is on the way. Or recession, whatever you want to call it.

Rome is way too easy. I wish I could take that easiness, and put it in the Macedon campaign. I still can’t pass turn 10 without being in debt and attacked on all sides!

As empires go down in number of provinces owned/imperium, there should be reduced army upkeep, and/or empire maintenance.

I tested a submod in DEI that went up to -30% upkeep for armies of imperium level 1-2.

Factions with 1 or 3 provinces would get 3 stacks of armies. My reasoning is pure gameplay, and rationalized it by saying, those armies are less maintained since they are just within the borders of the capital. Some of them could be private armies produced and maintained by nobles themselves. Or simply volunteers seeking for glory and fame.

i got up to 130k per turn lol. I think the scaling is a little too strong.

    Possible mint spam sollution:

    • make it only one per faction, better bonuses, more expensive.
    • Make it "gold/silver" dependen. Only in provinces with gold or silver, so you can have several, but no spams.
    • Give it a bigger drawback.

It could be done with any overpowered building.

How is the mint building even good ? I didn't build one yet but i feel like the faction wide corruption would make the building pretty since i assumed it would stack and your corruption would go through the roof.

Anyways i think the economy needs some tweaks for sure. Turn 26 got 8 full stacks no navy making 93k in summer and 67k in winter.

My roman capaign is currently sitting in year 180ish and i m making around 50-90 k per turn, apart from winter and i ve over 2 million denarii. Don't think we need to get less money since i have everything upgraded and i tried to build farms where it would be more profitable. Also combining some buildings with farms will be very profitable, My only main problem was getting the slaves, that i found near Byzantium.

Start a new game. With today's update Rome starts in a famine. Maybe it will not be so easy as it was before.

Well can't compare to other campaigns so i m not sure if it has an easy or difficult start, but the first X turns are kinda troublesome.

Not enough time to go over all that again, but after my exams i will restart and do a new campaign. I hope Petilius upgrades or changes how enemy armies work in terms of quantity.
