Default Rank Total War games based on performance

Would you please help me ranking Total War games from best to worse performance being the first one the Total War with best performance and the last one the Total War with worst performance? It would be ideal to consider up to Thrones of Britannia. In this ranking I am not considering how old is the game and the ranking should be based only on performance not if the game is good or bad. I am also not considering using mods, vanilla games only but fully patched (not when the game was just released). I would appreciate if you put: 1 "Total War game 1", 2 "Total War game 2", n "Total War game n" being 1 the best performance and n the worst performance.

    Thank you all!

    Performance rather than gameplay

    1. Shogun 2
    2. Medieval 2
    3. Medieval 1
    4. Napoleon
    5. Empire
    6. Rome 1
    7. Rome 2
    8. Atilla -- very slow turn times and poor frame rate in big battles.

Warhammer 1 had best perfomance so far. I dont remember if Thrones of Britannia or Warhammer 2 have even better perfomance.
But Attila by far had the worst perfomance. Rome 2 was horrible too, but Emperor Edition somewhat improved it.
Apologies for anyone who's message i may miss or not be able to answer

In terms of sheer performance, I would say...

    1. STW1 (Warlords ED. It's still no:1)
    2. RTW (probably)
    3. MTW2 (probably)
    4. MTW1 (its much faster then RTW and MTW2, but also more unstable. Hence it ends up in 4th place)
    5. STW2
    6. Warhammer 1 (I guess)
    7. Empire
    8. RTW2

I have not really played the others...

    Here is my personal ranking.

    1. MTW (still nostalgic and especially the Viking Invasion expansion)
    2. RTW (still nostalgic and especially the Barbarian Invasion expansion)
    3. ETW (still nostalgic despite its shortcomings in a buggy Warscape engine)
    4. NTW (still nostalgic despite a buggy Warscape engine)
    5. S2TW (couldn't get myself into the game, too complex for me I think)
    6. M2TW (I can barely play the game with mods due to messed up game time in-game)
    7. R2TW (can't play it as it has the same messed up game time as in M2TW plus a few things were cut out)

Note that I didn't include STW in the list, because I haven't play it for over 10 years I think and don't remember it well. Also, I stop buying TW games after the release of R2TW, which was my first and last pre-ordered TW game ever.

How to make Morrowind less buggy for new players - Of course every player may find it useful.

Of the ones I have played

    1 - Shogun 2
2 - Napoleon (you can literally put EVERYTHING on top of it, vanilla or not, and it will still work extremely well)
    3 - Medieval 2
    4 - Rome
    5 - Empire
    6 - Shogun\Medieval
7 - Attila (this one is just... broken. On too many levels to count)
    My Mods and Projects

    - Realism Core v5 for La Monteé de L'Empire 4.2 (NTW)
    - Battle Chaos, give life to your fights! (NTW)
    - Battleterrain Mod, larger, better campaign battle maps (NTW)
    - Developer for 1800 (ETW) battle mechanics, unit stats
    - Developer for Victoria Total War (ETW) unit modeller \ texturer
    - Developer of Rise of the Eagles (MTW2 - HOSTED), creator \ db \ models \ textures
    - Risorgimento 1859 The Franco-Austrian War (NTW), creator \ developer

Depends in your rig I guess but for me ToB is no 1 and Warhammer 1 is no 2, provided you have 'modern' rig. I di not include older games prior to Shogun 2 of course unless you're still running in Windows XP.

Shogun 2 is pretty good, but I dont rate it high because I did not find any different in loading using SSD while other games from Rome 2 onwards have very fast loading if you use SSD. Warhammer 2 somehow have worse loading if you use DX12 but better fps (for AMD gpu) compared to DX11.

TOB have smoothest loading and battles for me, even if I install it on my old HDD (slightly faster on SSD still).

This is base on my own rig though (i5 3570, 8gb ram, rx 570 4gb).
