You should immediately, without further delay, read the Firedrake by Cecelia Holland. It's a fun rustic look at 11th century Europe, and its main character is an Irish "knight" abroad who ends up fighting at Hastings. He's basically The Clifford. It's a pretty good book. Maybe a favorite.

    As incompetent as The Clifford?

It shall be purchased as soon as I return home from showjumping! Thank God for Kindles.

Not a tactician. A very flawed man. Good at killing things and taking things. (What more could William want?)

This is true, William had a bit of fondness for killers.

Also i have finals on 14th June so until then even if i sign up i won't be overly active.

EDIT : Stigand has a brother Etherlmaer who is the bishop of Elmham, if anyone is interested in family ties with me you can take him i suppose.

Could you narrow that down to the top three, please? just to help with the existing conflicts.

I'm thinking of adding a Mowbray as well to my claims. A non clergy one.

I'm giving Oz my claim to Rufus. We've agreed this.

So I'll take Brian de Bretagne instead.

Welcome to the RPG section. How much experience playing rpgs do you have and how did you discover our little forum? If you have any questions your self with regards to getting set up or the rules you can direct them at myself or one of the other mods Gandulfus, General Brewster, Lucius Malfoy, and Barry Goldwater.
