    Default Politics and provinces

    Hello!

Im turning to you guys for some much needed advice and help. The mod is wonderfull and really fun. Though I tend to have some serious problem with my faction polotics (playing as rome).
So if someone is willing to share some tips it would be very appreciated. Should I give governing Jobs to my own family first?
In my current campaign I have had 3 civil wars and im loosing control, all family members have low influence etc etc.

The other matter at hand is sanitation. I really like to plan my provinces for "specifik" things (food, mining, military etc).
So has anyone come up with a good layout for rome?
Upgrading all the towncenter buildings sky-rocket the squalor and one aqueduct line cant keep this in check. Some some advice here is also appreciated.

Ben trying to google and search the internet for some advice on how to work my faction politics. Though not to any great success.
Sorry for all the noobish questions and I really love the mod so far, great job

About politics, make sure that others family members have enough loyalty towards you to avoid civil wars, then adopt some character, like some general that you use to conquer and win battle to gain influence.
Sanitation is important but not necessary, at least 1/2 sanitation buildings for province, it can be enough.

The well works wonders in helping sanitation until you can level the acqueduct up. Also, the governor with high management gives +2 sanitation (- if 3 or less), as well as +1 if you take the trait on leveling. This helps a lot as well, and vital without the research.

For politics, adopt generals that have high influence so that it comes to you. Otherwise, keep an eye on who is low and why and try to work with them. You can always just for them from the job and let them sit with nothing to do if low influence. If really bad, make a new army, have them there only unit and attack someone in a suicide charge.
It is what it is, nothing more, nothing less

I tend to go with Public Well and Estates in all my small cities. That should allow for easy sanitation.

As for your politics question: you want to make sure you are roughly balanced power (50-70% power). The easiest way to do this is to adopt all characters that are active in your faction (so not the candidates). This will get you full popular support (which is your influence as a percentage of total faction influence. Since you own everyone, this is 100%). After this, have everyone but your leader and heir rally support until you get to the desired level of political support. This also lowers influence of non heir characters, further cementing your rule.
