Default How to recruit Elite units as Rome?

Is there a mechanic in the mod like DEI where elite unit recruitment depends on number of turns/imperium? Because in my playthrough some elite units are not available in campaign even after relevant research, but they are available in custom.

Hey there. If you mean Praetorian Guard units, they can be recruited at Rome once certain buildings are present. You also have to have the ability to recruit Augustan Legions to get the Guard units. Once you can recruit the Imperial legions, you can get the improved Imperial Praetorian Guard (don't think that is actual name) As for specific buildings I believe you need the same type needed for Legionaries recruitment.

On recruiting units later on into the game, you need to put farms and use the auctioned farms tree and build those. They allow you to recruit units and later units in Rome and in your territories outside of Italy. Every province should have those farms since you can then recruit troops in them but they also need to be romanized. So look at the culture and if its mainly roman, you will be able to recruit from there. Places like Corduba is mostly Roman and Carthago Novo is mostly Iberian. So you will be able to recruit out of the Corduba province.
