Am I doing this right?

I setup my armies this way on the campaign map before I go an attack a faction:

(2) Peasant Archers
(2) Spear Militia
(2) Dismounted Imperial Knights
(2) Gothic Knights
(2) Dismounted Gothic Knights
(2) Feudal Knights
(2) Trebuchets
(2) Crossbow Militia

Is this the correct way of organising the units? Or it doesn't really matter what you do just as long as you win a battle with what you got?

Looks pretty same as I have. I have usually general + 4 cavalry units, 8 infrantry units, 4 archer units and some bombard units. I don't use any militia units though. Maybe in very early in game, but I start recruiting units from castles asap.

For example with England:

- General
- 4 x English knights
- 4 x Dismounted English knights
- 4 x Armoured swordsmen
- 4 x Retinuee longbowmen
- 2 or 3 x (some bombard unit)

It honestly doesn't matter, as long as you win the battles

As most European factions, my armies were generally 6 spear militia (form a battleline) and 3 cavalry (flank and kill).

And then as the Turks or Byzantium, I've used pure horse archer armies (7-8), 3 horse archers + 6 foot archers, or even 3 spear militia, 6 foot archers, 3 horse archers.

As long as you win and find the battles fun

Hahahaha! That's sooo inappropriate!

To stay on topic..

I think it depends what faction you are meeting and where, but that's about as general as it can get army wise.. Although it can be nice to specialize your stacks sometimes ^^ no archers only infranty and cavalry, for rushing cities for example.
