Well the borders are so ridiculous I do not see this as an argument at all.

False, the lazarevic was given some lands in, Syrmia, Banat and Backa, not the entirety of those lands lol
You had many other noble familes ruling in those lands as well, the Lazarevic were merely given a few castles and land as landed nobles of the kingdom of Hungary.
The Despotate of Serbia after 1459 was not a vassal state, it was merely a title that the kings of Hungary used after it fell, in reality, the lands were split among various banates, for example the banate of Macva.

Again, the issue is that the borders are ridiculous and should be fixed, perhaps the kingdom of Bosnia should replace Serbia as a faction.
