The faction icons look like the ones from the German mod... Just sayin'.
I see. Anyway, I totally agree with Hrobatos.
Hello,
I thought you would like this small preview of ongoing work on artillery: that's a Huge Bombard you see down here...

Wow! So I am guessing the front will open when they fire. That looks amazing like the historical records. So this will sit between the Bombard and the Grand Bombard? I am guessing its a totally new artillery piece and does not replace any vanilla one.
If the animation's gonna work as it should, this will be the coolest artillery piece I've ever seen in a Medieval 2 mod!
what are you going to use animation for this Huge Bombard
it should replace the Huge Bombard. The size of the gun is even a bit bigger.
thank you! I am a bit silent in those days as I am experimenting with animations.
by the way, if someone here is able to create new animations it might be really, REALLY helpful to have him...
I am experimenting with the Huge Bombard animation. it works for moving back and recoiling the gun bore, whilst the fixed limber remain stopped. However, there are troubles with the overall adaptation, and while at first I thought to be able of making an opening door slide using the chains animation of the Huge Bombard, the effects are quite odd. I might create, instead, a fixed gun emplacement with earth defences and an open slide door in front of the gun bore.

Oh, and I have the last Austrian foot unit in the roster: the Crossbowman.
Please have a look at them in Sketchfab if you want to see them in their 3d glory.
Medieval 2 Total War - Machiavello mod | Model for Austrian Crossbowmen for the Archduchy of Austria. The soldiers are armed with sallets of German design, like the one on the ground, with fixed frontal opening, or with typical Eisenhut kettle-hat with eye slots. The model is mainly a combination of work made by the mod team and some OSP pack developed for Mount & Blade Warband.

Unfortunately, I have no experience at all with animation making.
Concerning the crossbowmen: how is the guy on the right supposed to aim? He can hardly see anything - wasn't the Schaller (sallet) used mainly for cavalry?

about the helmet, you could have been right; I mean, the argument is reasonable enough. Unfortunately, there are several instances in which crossbowmen in the lower alpine arc (from Switzerland, lower Germany, Austria) are depicted having that particular "Eisenhut" helmet with eye slots.
Example could be found in the Spiezer Chronik by Diebold Schilling: there are several instances in which crossbowmen and even handgunners are portrayed with that particular helmet.
Below you will fond some link to check them out, they are great illustrations.

Great mod here,
I would like to know if you're planning to implement in some way the differences between the Scuola Braccesca and Scuola Sforzesca. Say, for example, as a trait that generals can acquire that give their troops specific bonuses or maluses or that gives recruitment discounts for certain units (or mercenaries).
I loved Spiccilati d'Italia and your work seems to be shaping up even better.

Cool! You're right, it's not a sallet because of the missing neck guard. I'm really surprise that there even are shooters drawn with Bascinets on the latter two pages.
In fact, there is some surprising evidence which we may usually skip: as you may see, some of the crossbowmen and handgunners have an axe instead of a sword as sidearm; and there is a consistent depiction of a very singular cone-shaped bascinet style throughout the whole Spiezer chronik (and not just that, also in other similar works) though no bascinet of that particular style survived. You may notice only 1 figure with that in a group, heavily armed, also with leg armours, or all together as mountd knights.
I think it could be used for officers and knights alike

Yes, this sounds like a good idea. I'm not sure if it's gonna look right in-game though.
Great work mylae!! I just have one (small) criticism. For the austrians i noticed they are all wearing the same type and colour of clothing (with the brown stripes). I know it is something small but it wpuld be great if they had other clothing types too.
Oh, well, they have 4-5 variation in a single unit; to have more they would need a larger texture.
I realized just now that in the previews I have shown the same models more than once. My fault!
