Okay. These threads have been closed multiple times. So, how about this time everyone has to discuss the song he/she posts about each time? And actually does so... ?

    No?

I'm listening to "Station 5: The Pearl" by Gatsbys American Dream.

    Lyrics:

you're like an anchor tied around my ankle
    but i want to swim
but but but i've got to breathe

they're big ****ing stars i swear to god they are

for all the money that you spend
    we will earn it
    hold ourselves responsible
    we're good for it
got a bad bad feeling that you wont
at least now you can't say i didn't ask

push it back push it back bring this back upfront
    gaining momentum now
uh huh you're falling in love
would you like it wait your turn
oh wait or would you like it again

they're big ****ing stars i swear to god they are

for all the money that you spend
    we will earn it
    hold ourselves responsible
    we're good for it
gotta bad bad feeling that you wont
at least now you can't say i didn't ask

    can't say i didn't ask yourself
    to do anything
    was the trust ourselves
guess it's clear that's not whats going on

you're like an anchor tied around my ankle
you're like a ship that passes right on by
you're like the kid on a shore thats just like wrapped in a wave(?)
and we're just waiting to die

they're big ****ing stars i swear to god they are

for all the money that you spend
    we will earn it
    hold ourselves responsible
    we're good for it
gotta bad bad feeling that you won't
at least now you can't say i didn't ask

It seems to be, in concurrence with the general theme of many songs on GAD's self-titled album, related to the music industry and how it burdens and restricts artists. It's a good song, though Gatsbys American Dream has quite a few superior ones.

Ugg, gross. Creed? Are you kidding me. A bunch of pansies, if you ask me. Never liked their music, even though its been used in a bunch of movies I like. For some reason me dad listens to them far to often.

Only Shaz is listening to some good tunes, gotta love Lamb of God.

I am listening to King of Fairies: Horslips.

I doubt it, Creed isn't that bad.

I'm curious, what do you base their pansiness on.:hmmm:

Okay, they aren't THAT bad. Bad still, but at least its rock.

Pansiness meter in my head. You look at a guy, flip a switch and it gives you the pansy meter.

Hmmm, how do I find a meter like that, sounds like an interesting tool.

Megadeth - in my darkest hour. a song with balls!

    "In my hour of need
    Ha [no] youre not there
And though I reached out for you
    Wouldnt lend a hand.

    Through the darkest hour
Grace did not shine on me
It feels so cold, very cold
    No one cares for me.

Did you ever think I get lonely
Did you ever think that I needed love
Did you ever think to stop thinking
Youre the only one that Im thinking of.

Youll never know how hard I tried
To find my space and satisfy you too.

Things will be better when Im dead and gone
Dont try to understand, knowing you Im probably wrong.

But oh how I lived my life for you
    Still youd turn away
Now as I die for you
My flesh still crawls as I breathe your name
All these years I thought I was wrong
Now I know it was you
Raise you head, raise your face your eyes
Tell me who you think you are, who?

    I walk, I walk alone
    Into the promised land.

Theres a better place for me
    But its far, far away
    Everlasting life for me
    In a perfect world
    But I gotta die first,
Please God send me on my way.

Time has a way of taking time
Loneliness is not only felt be fools
Alone I call to ease the pain
Yearning to be held by you, alone so alone, Im lost
    Consumed by the pain
The pain, the pain, the pain.

    Wont you hold me again
You just laughed, ha ha, *****
My whole life is work built on the past
But the time has come when all things shall pass
    This good thing passed away.

    In my darkest hour."

actually, the lyrics sound like emos, LOL.

Gatsbys American Dream - "My Name Is Ozymandias"

With a wink and a nod look we're all giving favors!
There's four pale pinked boys in an accountants hand
Examples must be made! Discipline must be maintained!
See, we're all a little mad here
what a joy it is to kill all my hunger in
    three minutes and thirty seconds
cause at the top of the world we're all just the bottom line
    someone's been shook red-handed!
Dead stage center at the ****-grin parade
    beware! beware!
beware of an aging pack of men who think like cats
wow! ain't it grand to be part of the future?!
A pox on ye phony kings
and all night while you slumber you'll dream of electric sheep
For we may perish at the hands we must shake
Our bodies longing for the aches to escape
and the filth they'll accept is the filth
that I'm dragging my belly through
cause we're being drowned out in our own ****ing sound
now the teenage brigade has opinions
and I can't get respect cause I'm not at the bar
now the teenage brigade has opinions
when I'm weak it is bleak and they're all capping me
with their cold metal clutch on us tightly
so get hip to recouping with youth at the bottom of a rabbit's hole!

It stops dead about halfway through and then completely changes tempo... It's an amazing song altogether.
