    Icon6 Medieval Europa map mod

    Hi. I Had no time to work on this map for a while now. I must say i also lost all my motivation due some helth problems i've got (nothing really serious, but seriously annoying).I Also dont like the fact, i used wrong projection in this map, so i must saddly announce that i wont longer work on this map.

    The good news is that this map is mostly done, so i have upploaded it to filefront for those that who wont to use it in their mods. (the link is below)
    Here are the things that still have to be done.

    Religions must be corrected in all provinces, now they are catholic 80% everywhere.
    Buildings must be added to all provinces, plus the city/castle lavel must be set.
    Garrissons must be added in the rebel provinces
    Resouces must be added. (I Have added some in england an frace).

    Rivers are occuring strange on the battlemap, this can be fixed by reducing brightness on the places where they flow, and some pixels beyond on the map_roughness.tga file.

    Map_roughness.tga can be also replaced with a modiefied map_heights.tga, now it is an original gtopo30 heightmap, that is looking better on the battlefield map, however it must bee also corrected on the mountain passes as well. (There are some strange occurrences)

    The long waiting time between the turns is accualy coused by the increased movement points, also after deleting the map.rwm file, it takes an eternity to generate it again.
    Simply decrease the movement point before generating it, and increase them afterwards. (or wait)

    brilliant. Can't wait to play your mod! Seems it will be taking us 10 turns to traverse Scotland!!!

    Darn I was hoping for something like Mundas Magnus with Iran and Pakistan.
    Oh well...still looks awesome none the less, maybe now I can relive the Hundred Years war more accurately! That should be fun!

    Yes. Persia would be nice to see, especialy due to mongol invasion. Unfortunatley there is province limit, also Map size limit. Would be nice feature if Ca would increase the region limit and add possibility to play on two maps at the same time. Also good for America.

    Nice map. By any chance were you using Spurius' Bigmap or the Labyrinth one as a base?

    An excellent idea. But it seems you'll have to invest a lot of your time into it. It's a worthy investment though. Just imagine being the creator of a "mundus magnus" like map.

    I think, once this is finished, it'll find its use in many mods.

    No. The map was fully developed by myself. It is GTOPO30 based, completly redone with wilbur. It took me some time and patience.

    Ok, ok, it's really impressive. Will you add more detail to the coast lines? I know that the original developers (CA) had many month to define the map of Medieval 2, but it just looks...well not so good when the coasts are an iteration of blocks, edges and so on. Same goes for woods. But the mountains are looking great so far!!

    Anyway, keep up the good work I'm really looking forward to the first final version.

    looks very good, just like I like it to be, but its called Europa Mod so are you going to make only europe or also the rest of the map?
    I like you added new regions, but since you have so much space I think some more wouldnt be bad.

    There will be no America on my map. The province number is around 193 and its maxed. One more is causing a ctd. Most of the provinces i looked up on Knights of honor. I have placed Cities as realistic as i can. There are also more provinces in Anatolia and italy. You can see the provinces on the screens. I will post some more.

    Any reason to not include america on the map? I thin many players are looking forward to conquer america or at least to fight the american natives. I do.

    Yes. I couldnt, cos i am somehow perfectionist. This tile of America, presented in vanilla map is in reality some three (or more) times larger. There is no place. Beside there is this stupid province limit.

    Looks really impressive must have been alot of work to get this far, but to be honest I doubt I will play on it. Having 200 provinces to conquer is a bit excessive and if the AI controls 40 provinces orso the turn taking slows down way to much for my taste .

    Well, you can turn ai moves off. I never play with it. As for the conquer, the time scale will be 0.5 (900 turns), and i will try to modify the dyplomacy so that protectorates are made easyli (Ai will beg for survival), and all the provinces of a vassal state are counted as your own.

    I think it would be a better view if you took the screenshots while zoomed out. We really cant understand how big the map is if your zoomed all the way in.

    Just wondering whether Ireland and portugal are supposed to be not on it? Regardless, it technically looks like a very good map. I just wish the textures brought out the climate and groundtypes better, like they did in RTW.
