Cannot defeat nations?

whenever i take a kingdom's last city the game crashes, it has happened when i played as france
i have taken spains, denmarks and englands last city but the game crashes after each one, very annoying

Does it crash immediately after you've taken the last settlement or do you get the 'faction eliminated' message that appears down the left hand side of the screen?

I shouldn't be posting but this is for Divided Kingdoms.

Were you using any mods? If so which ones?

Anyone come up with a fix for this? Divided Kingdoms suffers from it.
