    Default lag (not bad fps)

For some reason my game has this lag, which isnt a bad framerate. It happens even when the frames are in the 40s. Basically, every few seconds the scene freezes for a moment, and then resumes as normal. My video card is certainly not overheating (below 65c) and I can't figure it out. I have rebooted the computer, and restarted the game as well. My hd is defragmented, and there arent any programs running in the backround, and no processes using up the ram or cpu.

I have the same problem. In my case the lag is worst when the camera moves around. As i have sed in an other post here, I thought it was my new 7600GS performance, combind with my old 2.6 processor. I cant be sure what is causing it.

I think it is shader version.1, that lags.

Make sure that the number of services you have running is also kept to the minimum by using msconfig (yes, I know the original posted indicated that no programs are running but services can make a real mess of performance).

I found out that A RAM stick of mine was broken. When I took it off and was left with the other 512, it ran much better. So you could try you RAM to see if its ok.

Well as far as ram goes, I have 2 GB, and only about 60 MB are being used total by backround processes. 0% cpu is being used by processes as well. And I know both of my ram sticks are fine.

I'm having the same issues but i'm using Shader 2, seems to only happen in larger 1000+ men battles, like evryone else my FPS are good 20-35.

The symptoms seem to suggest that the CPU is trying to do something else in the background or is having trouble calculating something, the AI maybe. It's like its trying to catch up with the game.

Is everyone else using dual-core chips?

I dont have dual core.. I have noticed that its a lot more choppy on custom battles than historical battles, probably because historical battles dont have AI.

Try setting your paging file to be larger and set the min and max as the same size. Try 2048 MB min and 2048 MB max, for example.

I found this hint if use AGP card, they will suggest go to adjust AGP adapture size from 64 to 128, it will help this and it work.

but...! I'm using PCI-e card lol any hint for PCI-e card setting? I no idea.
