Re: Some questions and suggestions.
Hey JB59! Thanks for supporting us. I'll try my best to answer your questions and suggestions.
- We are actually a different team than the one behind DeI. But DeI and AE have been cooperating in many areas, freely exchanging resources. Some of AE's work is actually seen in DeI, and conversely, some of DeI's fantastic work will be featured in AE for Attila
- We are working very hard towards achieving a high quality mod. Pioneering with new concepts and bringing the project up to a high standard has been focus since the start. However, don't just take my word for it. I recommend checking out the many preview threads scattered on this board, where you can find anything from campaign previews to faction previews and battles by youtubers.
- The sense of progression may vary quite a lot depending on your choice of faction. The Roman Republic has a unique starting position in that they are very powerful, having subjugated smaller nations during the course of the Second Punic War. Carthage stands on the brink of destruction - the game sets you up with opposing Roman and Carthaginian armies in Africa, just prior to Zama. There are other behemoths like the Seleucid Empire and the Ptolemaic Kingdom. Most factions, however, start off small, with one or two regions. I think it's here that you will find the greatest sense of progression, from "tribe" to a kingdom or empire. This isn't to say that larger factions like the Seleucids will be without challenge - quite on the contrary. They are overstretched and have powerful enemies. The most powerful enemy, however, comes from within; high native discontent (cultural intolerance) from the native populations of Persia and Asia Minor will make keeping the large Empire together more difficult.
- There are no scripted events planned for release, perhaps with some exception - although we would very much like to do this, the team is too small to find time for it prior to release. There are "Year in History" like events on a quite regular basis where information about important historical events is shown. In terms of events in the style of dilemmas, asking you to make decisions, there is only the generic vanilla stuff. We have plans to include elaborate incidents and event chains, but it may take time.
I agree with you on the economy. The numbers are very high and can be difficult to get a hold of. We're already discussing this internally and I think we will return to a lower scale before release. As for a Hannibal at the Gates scenario, that is something I think some of us would very much like to do after the main mod is out. Mini campaigns has been part of the philosophy since the start.

Thank you for your answers, i would also know if you will remove (or a least reduce) the ability of razing the settlements because in all campaign in Attila at the end half of the world is destroyed and it does not look like a world of great empire
