Medieval II won't install, crc error
Hi everyone. I can't get my game to install. Each time I try I get the same error message. A lot of you will have seen it already, it reads like this:
"crc error: The file C:\Program Files\Sega\Medieval II Total War\packs\data_0.pack doesn't match the file in the setup's .cab file. Tha medium from which you are running the setup may be corrupted; contact your software vendor."
When seeing this if I choose to retry the installation repeat the same error message. If I choose to ignore it I get further crc error messages referring to different files. If I ignore them all the game will install but crashes my pc when starting a campaign.
I have tried all the work arounds on the sega website ie. clean the disk, renaming the install shield folder, turn off antivirus, download safedisk, log on as a new user, and copy the files onto the hard disk. Everytime I get the same error message. I have replaced the game once for a new one and I have successfully installed it on another pc
.
It would seem like it's a compatability issue between the game and my pc.
If there is anything anyone else could sugget it try I would be really grateful.
Thanks, catfoot.
