Had a short off site discussion about adapting D&D rules for an adventure style RPG, would probably work with 1-3 'GM' players who do rolls and move the plot forward when needed. If you're interested, please vote on what setting(s) you'd prefer.

I cannot GM anything but I'd play. Here's some suggestions, though.
The One Ring Roleplaying Game http://cubicle7.co.uk/our-games/the-one-ring/
A Song of Ice and Fire Roleplaying https://greenronin.com/sifrp/
(I think Green Ronin made Dragon Age rules too, but you have to be Grey Wardens)
Blood & Bronze https://bloodandbronze.com/2015/09/0...-blood-bronze/
Hillfolk - A Game of Iron Age Drama http://site.pelgranepress.com/index.php/hillfolk/
Apocalypse World https://geekandsundry.com/a-shiny-an...-of-the-world/
Also, Yggdrasill, but I think Norse aesthetic & vikings may be a bit burned out now
And GURPS could be used if we want to run around the ancient Mediterranean http://www.sjgames.com/gurps/books/ImperialRome/

I voted but the box for Game of Thrones didn't tick when I voted, so +1 to that as well. My other vote was Sci Fi.
I forgot to also tick GoT.
Seems it will be lord of the rings or medieval, then, providing we have a Gm or two.
Has anyone looked at something like this https://roll20.net/
Just from a google search, but might make running the game easy?
Not for the mode of roleplaying posts. We want to do something more akin to the threads you see on the RPGnet forum (random example).
This also means a very slow pace, which may be a necessary change for the forum here since..
(a) many people can't even post more than once a day or so
(b) our traditional games die a lot (or lose traction anyway) because of slow activity, so let's do something where a slow pace is expected (and desired)

So the general consensus seems to be a LOTR RPG. I'm willing to try and use the One Ring rules to make something we can use here but I very much doubt I will be able to do so on my own.
