    Default Pack file manager for Mac?

    Want to edit TPY and reform dates but can't find a PFM program that works for Mac or a guide that shows you how to do it without one

    So I assume you've managed to get Divide et Impera working on your Mac? Could you please tell me how?

    It took me a long long time but yes eventually. Firstly because Mac can't support the new features of the base game (patch 18 onwards with empire divided and the new politics system) we have to use the patch 17 version of dei 1.2. You can find this on the official main thread under older versions. There are two parts to download.

    This only lets you play custom battles and the game will crash on starting a campaign. So Dresden made an official Mac sub mod that is based on the data venia add on. You can find this on the same thread I think. This is harder than base dei (apparently) and is 24tpy so much slower, and makes the year at the bottom of the campaign screen completely irrelevant

    Once you have downloaded all of these files you need to activate them one by one. Open terminal (in applications) and type chmod +x with a space at the end. Drag one of the downloaded files into the terminal and press enter. You should see the file icon change from white to black/green. Do this for the other two files.

    Then find your Rome folder by using the go function and typing in ~/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/Total War Rome II/data/

    add the three files to this folder

    Then you need to open your script file, use the go function and type in ~/library/The Creative Assembly/Rome2/scripts

    open the preferences.script.txt file using text edit program and under the second line thats should just say "exit #" make a new line

    starting on this new line type the following

    mod "@a_Mac_DeI_submod.pack";
    mod "_divide_et_impera_release_12_Part1.pack";
    mod "_divide_et_impera_release_12_Part2.pack";

    Save this and you should be good to go. Note that the typing above is the names of the three files you downloaded, if the file names dont exactly match mine change them accordingly.

    Also note that for some reason (for me at least) every time you exit the game the script file resets itself, so save that text in a word doc and before you play each time open up the script file and copy that in

    EDIT: here are the links to the files

    you can download the Mac sub mod from this thread. http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...C-BREAKTHROUGH

    You can edit TPY by using EditSF:
    http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...ghlight=EditSF
    or you can use SaveParser and edit you save game:
    http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...ghlight=EditSF

    Don't know if they work on Mac.

    Here's a tutorial on how to do it in EditSF:
    http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...e-II-total-war
    and:http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...1#post13270783

    In SaveParser:
    ¤ press Game and chose Rome 2
    ¤ click on File/open savegame and chose the save game you want to edit, you can start a new camping save it on turn 1 and edit it
    ¤ go to Edit-Global and put in the TPY you like in the Game Settings
    ¤ click on File/save savegame

    and you done.

    You can also edit TPY in CA Assembly Kit.

    Rusted PackFile Manager
    works just like PFM:

    I don't use it myself, but give it a try.

    @Commissar Caligula

    Ah so you need some special submod, I'll have to ask Dresden what he changed. I don't have a Mac, but I keep on getting asked by people how to use my mods with a Mac, so thanks for the help =)

    We have no answer for this (strangely enough). No one knows the reason.

    Thanks for your input. I'll try to verify it shortly.

    Honestly I don't know why the Mac submod works. DV has a ton of older DeI files in it, and for some reason some of them allow it to work with Mac. I think it may be our older reforms files, I am not sure.
