Default Civil Wars are ruining the game - any working submod that will help??

I'm playing as Rome and I'm in turn 151.
I've conquered Italy, Sicily, Carthage's North African provinces and southern Gaul so far and it was the first time in YEARS, that I've really enjoyed Rome II, thanks to this awesome MOD.
But somehow everything has gotten out of control now. My equites faction had about 55% of political control. Then a secession happened in North Africa, which took me about 15 turns to defeat. At the same time my political power rose to about 80%, which made a tyrant over the senate, giving me insane public order penalties with never ending rebellions in all provinces and food shortages.

So I finally managed to defeat the secession and am still trying to get public order back in line, the next civil war is looming just around the corner, as i'm only protected from it for one more turn.

How the did this happen and what am I supposed to do?

Is there any working submod for DEI, that just removes civil wars?

Load the S pack you'll find inside. It should be sufficient.

    Otherwise load this one.

I think we had a similar discussion before with someone else in another thread. You gotta manage party loyalty in order to avoid civil wars, usually holding some negotiations and paying people off, that sort of thing. I'm actually at the point where I would enjoy a civil war or two since it'd give me something new to fight with my legions, and am quite envious of you. Still, you'll want to try losing influence in the senate, and could try embezzling funds with characters you don't mind getting bad traits. You'll not only gain money in the process, but lose influence in the senate as a result, which is precisely what you wanna do to even things out.

I agree with Cadet and Satan, but this is a game, not a mission to Mars. Probably he just wants to have fun.

Speak for yourself. Civil Wars are the greatest thing to happen since the population mechanic was added.

Well to each his own I guess. But it's very easy to never have any civil wars if you don't like them, without any submod. Just pay attention to the political aspects of the game from the beginning.

How do you actually prevent civil wars? I assumed it would be by amassing political power and monopolising politics but I think its the opposite?

I think it is quite the opposite. You should keep the parties influence balanced and you should keep them loyal. But I don't know what the threshold is, meaning how balanced and how loyal should it be. For Rome I am trying to keep my party slightly at the top, keeping the other factions around 20% influence and with a positive loyalty. I've only been notified of Civil War risk when I neglected the political tab for a few turns and noticed one of the factions had -5 loyalty. A few political actions and marriages later and it seems the situation is stabilized.

Keep the balance of the different parties influence. There is a graph that shows the percentages of each parties influence. Characters gain influence by becoming powerful governors and generals.

I just keep them balanced by recruiting a character I intend to be a general from the lowest influence party. Start them off young and as they go on campaign and become a famous general they will gain lots of influence for their party.
