oof, I'd entirely forgotten mine was still going...

you're at the wrong end of the day on the second pic

the clock face in the first pic is relevant because of the relative colours of the hour positions

if you don't get it now I'll assume you've never heard the expression

There's an expression "the darkest hour is just before the dawn" that would fit.
"Lay these words to heart, Lucilius, that you may scorn the pleasure which comes from the applause of the majority. Many men praise you; but have you any reason for being pleased with yourself, if you are a person whom the many can understand?" - Lucius Annaeus Seneca -

Oh, dang. Muizer definitely has it, I think. I didn't think "darkest" with regards to the clock, but rather "black", and that sent me down some wrong paths.

We'll have to wait for mak to confirm the guess, but my bet is that Muizer is taking home the medal today

right, I suppose I'll give a hint. There's no verb in the expression and none of the objects in the pics is in the expression either.

No takers? First pic refers to quantity, second to time.

Ah, that hint helps a lot! My guess would be: "Too little, too late."

The hint is definitely what did it, as I had no idea!

Anyway, here is the next one, and I am again going to do an emoji run.

I swear, my "riddles" are always guessed within a day. Next time I am going to put something ridiculous and obscure up there!

    Anyway, the floor is Sept's!

Thank you! I will post something easier as well, although one really never knows with these.

Edit: I messed up the picture somehow in the saving phase, I guess. Well, it'll do.

I have given this a try on three occasions now but I am out of ideas.

Noice! I managed to make it hard(er). And none of the images are just cheaty or something; each one links to one of the main words in the expression (leaving out words like "is", "a", or "of", all of which are in there ).

As a first hint, the final image is meant to be a bit misleading. It is actually showing the elementary and focal ingredient of a food item. That final food item is what is in the expression.

Well done, dude, but I can't rep you yet (if someone else would do the honors, I'd be much obliged ).

Anyway, the floor is yours! Make the next one a good one, eh!
