I gave a hint right of the bat that the choice of images was cheesy.

Well you know, a good quizz question IMHO should at least make you think after the fact "I could have gotten that". Instead, lately I find myself thinking "no way I'd ever have gotten that". Next step "might as well not bother". I don't reckon I'm alone in this.

Yep, that's about how I feel too Muizer. Except for a couple exception, this entire last month of this game has been us basically waiting for you to post answers because it's so obscure.

In all honesty, the two of you have not e-v-e-r seen Star Wars V: The Empire Strikes Back ?
Perhaps "All fair and above board" was too obscure, yet a legitimate choice.
Perhaps your criticism of that choice holds water because nobody could guess it.
But "I am altering the deal" is way too well known (just google it) and Sar1n got it.

If I did, I don't remember much of it. Is that the one where Harrison Ford steps out onto an asteroid without donning a space suit?

No, I have seen it. I just don't really think of it as a "catch phrase". I guess maybe the name or rules of the game should be clarified for these new modern definitions ?

Homophones like eye/I have always been a staple of pictionary esque games like this.

I think we can just consider a catchphrase for this game to be any reasonably recognisable phrase. The very first answer in the thread was 'dead end'.

From the rules. People are supposed to play fairly and to respect the other players and to do their best to ensure that the game keeps flowing.

I think we can use our common sense to choose a phrase that others will be able to guess, and one that keeps the game flowing.

If you're still not sure, I made the thread after watching this show and thinking it would be a fun game for us to emulate

As Steven says, "All you have to do is say what you see. It can be a word or a saying, or even the name of a film". In the show they have phrases such as rough diamond, or daydream, and sayings like, "you can't make an omelette without breaking an egg".

I've updated the OP with the above.

Paleo, I don't think I would have guessed that Darth Vader line I'm afraid.

    Cyclops, you're up.

Lines have been posted here that I could not have guessed either but other people guessed them.
I could be posting lines that are so straightforward that the winner will always be the quickest one to respond.
This will result in shifting the challenge from guessing to twitching.

    Who is Cyclops?
It was Sar1n who guessed the last quiz.

    Is five days "a while"?
Take your time make it a "straightforward" one.

Fascinating. You made it up and yet you failed to make it fit the hint you asked for.

    So, that's a "no"?
How does the open book come into this?
Is the chapter of the book related?
    These are hints.

    It's a "Nae, ye dummy".
Your habit of catching me online and asking for serial hints is annoying and unfair to others. I'll give additional hints when I feel it's time.

It's not like he's PMing you and receiving hints in private. When someone asks for a hint publicly and receives it publicly it's a hint for all players, not just the person who asked it. I often ask for hints when I notice a thread hasn't been posted in for a few days to keep things moving, it has nothing to do with "catching people online" or "serial hints" or whatever nonsense. This game has been moving at a snails pace and it took you a full week to even post the riddle and it went four days without anyone guessing before he asked for a hint. That's entirely appropriate. What's not appropriate is the openly hostile attitude you have towards other participants in the games.
