Default Anno Domini 1080 {AoC} Submod

    Anno Domini 1080

    http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfile...?id=1328596632

I created this mod to capture the feel of the old M2TW game (1080 AD) for Atilla Total War
This campaign uses AoC campaign map, so its more focused on Europe, but still has tons of unit diversity!

This mod adds the MKTW 1212 units to the campaign map and removes all other units from the campaign. All credit for the units and loading screens goes to Warman, LTD, and all of the other guys on the MTWK 1212 team, their mod is coming along nicely but does not yet have a campaign. Please support here:
    http://www.twcenter.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?1767-Medieval-Kingdoms-Total-War-(MKTW).
If you want to play custom battles, use their mod! This is for campaign only.

The campaign starts in 1080 and is 2 turns per year, just like the original M2TW.

    The playable factions:
    Royaume de France
    Kingdom of England
    The Holy Roman Empire
    The Almovarads
    Danes
    Flanders
    Republic of Firenze
    Kingdom of Castille and Leon
    Kingdom of Hungary
    Roman Empire (Italy)

Anno Domini uses a vassal system where large nations like the Holy Roman Empire, France, England, and the Almovarids have core territory but have surrounding vassals, some of which are loyal, and some which have bad relations with their overlords. I've played several campaigns and sometimes they rebel, sometimes they stick with you which makes diplomacy really important! Additionally, as France you can try to bring Brittany (vassal of England) over to your side which may or may not work. This is much more realistic than just one large unified nation.

Another feature that has been added is each Christian faction gets to recruit certain units from the different monastic order if the town is a church. England will be able to recruit Templars, HRE Teutonic knights, and so forth.
Siege weapons have also been added. Catapults are recruitable from barracks, but Trebuchets and Cannons require a siege workshop.
Gunpowder units also make an appearance toward the end of the campaign.

Solid work. I started as England. I like the dynamic between Britanny/Gasconny. I'm hoping for more updates.

Thorolf was thus armed. Then Thorolf became so furious that he cast his shield on his back, and, grasping his halberd with both hands, bounded forward dealing cut and thrust on either side. Men sprang away from him both ways, but he slew many. Thus he cleared the way forward to earl Hring's standard, and then nothing could stop him. He slew the man who bore the earl's standard, and cut down the standard-pole. After that he lunged with his halberd at the earl's breast, driving it right through mail and body, so that it came out at the shoulders; and he lifted him up on the halberd over his head, and planted the butt-end in the ground. There on the weapon the earl breathed out his life in sight of all, both friends and foes. [...] 53, Egil's Saga
I must tell you here of some amusing tricks the Comte d'Eu played on us. I had made a sort of house for myself in which my knights and I used to eat, sitting so as to get the light from the door, which, as it happened, faced the Comte d'Eu's quarters. The count, who was a very ingenious fellow, had rigged up a miniature ballistic machine with which he could throw stones into my tent. He would watch us as we were having our meal, adjust his machine to suit the length of our table, and then let fly at us, breaking our pots and glasses.

@ MAE yes I haven't had time to work on that yet, that's gonna be a pretty time consuming task and there are other pressing things to fix. Hopefully I will get around to that!
