Default [Release]KCC (Kostic Chronology Costumes) - included in the SSHIP 098

    KCC 0.9.5 for SSHIP 0.9.7

The purpose of this mod is to recreate a medieval atmosphere as close as possible to what we know at the time. The game begins in the 12th century.
My priority is therefore to give the player a credible aspect of the costumes and armor worn at that time, as well as at subsequent times insofar as the player will modify the story by his choices.
Having mainly knowledge for the Western factions (I am French), I started my work on these regions of Europe.
So I started by modifying the Western units. But very quickly, it seemed to me necessary to improve all of the units for better immersion.

    How to install:

    1- Have a clean version of SS6.4

    2- Install SSHIP 0.9.7

What the KCC 0.9.5 version contains:
    - 165 units reworked
    - There are now kings and heirs who stand out on the battlefield
    - New loading screens
    - The portraits of the generals without anachronisms
    - General's bodyguards have horses for the Danish faction

What KCC 0.9.5 does not contain:
    - The images of the events are not modified
    - The images of the unit cards are not modified

You will find within the mod 2 folders in the SS6.3 folder:
    - data XII
    - data XIII
When the player reaches the period of the thirteenth century, at the time he wishes, he can copy / overwrite the original data with that contained in the data folder XIII. Thus he will see certain units change, such as officers and horses for example.
To restart a campaign, it will then suffice to overwrite the original data again with the data contained in the data folder XII.
This manipulation can be done as many times as you want!

You can also improve your viewing experience by installing the latest version of Nemesis to change unit cards.
Watch this thread: KCC Unit Cards by Nemesis

    On the campaign map:
    - I remade the Kings, the Heirs, the generals and the captains except for the factions of the east for which I integrated the characters of the mod Rusichi Total War

    - I integrated a good number of characters from the Rusichi Total War mod

    - All portraits have been redone to be more historically neutral

For battles, here is the list of units I have redone or modified:

I thank the modders and especially Lifthrasir and Jurand of Cracow for their excellent work as well as all the modders who contributed to the construction of this exciting historic mod.

This version may be the latest under this name. After the release of SSHIP 0.9.7, the team intends to integrate my units into the official mod. We should find my work in SSHIP 0.9.8 with, I hope, even more reworked units for an ever more historic rendering !

Requires: A clean version of SSHIP 0.92 or you can paste KCC 0.9

    Installation:
1 - Download KCC 0.9.2 and unzip the file
2 - Copy the contents of the folder "KCC 0.9.2" in the data folder of "Medieval II Total War" or in the root folder of the game and accept the replacement of the files.

    Download here :
    https://www.moddb.com/games/medieval...nloads/kcc-092

    notes:
    - The peasant archers and the archer militia were redone to remove the texture bug that saturated the screen when these units were in contact with swordsmen. This, however, removes the animation of "laying the arrow" that existed before.
    - The longbowmen have not been redone yet. It will be for the next version.
    - historical coherence is valid until the mid-thirteenth century for French units. The other Western factions have not yet been completely revised. It will be for the next version.
    - I think the next update will complete the 12th-13th period. If I still have energy and motivation, I will then tackle the 14th-15th period.
    - If another mod installed on the same session ends up with my modified deceased portraits, just go to the Medieval II Total War files / data / ui / and change the names of the eastern_european and southtern_european folders to o_eastern_european and o_southtern_european for example...

I really fail to see what is good looking about this new reskin that sship is using and that you are expanding upon. Im not sure how historic it is but it sure does make the soldiers look like skeleton lego peons

Yeah I get you, you got rid of the plate armor but most soldiers and especially knight wore multiple layers of paddings, cloathing and armor and together with great physique this would make them look alot different from what you are doing. Especially the arms like you really make the units seem like they are skeletons wrapped in one layer of something on their thin skellety body and this is why alot of the original medieval 2 and stainless steel models actually look better and even more realistic and historic according to my beliefs.

If I understand you correctly, it is a question of "muscles" ...

Actually, the units of this mod (Sandy units) are not completely satisfactory concerning this point. The bodies are a little too thin, the arms too. But from there to be so critical ...

Regarding the costumes, it is much more respectful and credible than the units of the original game, I think.

My ug1 mailed knights are based on another model that should perhaps please you more ... They will be in my next version.

I think to be rather well documented concerning the costumes of the Middle Ages, but I am not a professional of 3D models !

In the meantime, do not forget that
we do this work by passion and without remuneration.

Considering that you're quite new in this, your work is already good. You'll improve with practice and experience. No worries
Don't give up. You have the potential.

PS: archers bug not fixed yet but I'm not forgetting it

Thank you for your message Lifth, but it seems to me that Dapacem does not criticize my work so much as that done by Sandy ...
I also find his point of view interesting but quite excessive.

Lol Its not really the muscles that make the difference altho they play a role, me myself im not particulary super muscular and otherwise quite skinny but I still look quite big when I put a jacket on or just a sweatshirt and now imagine if I put on actualy multiple layers of hard protectice armor and some stuffing, I would be double or tripple or even more of my normal size. I think many people get this idea that mail armor is just like a mail shirt you put on but that would obviously hardly protect anybody, you have to have alot of stuff under it and some over it even to make it all fit and move well together and actually reach its full potential.
But I like the new pictures you posted, it seems alot more accurate.
