    Default problems overclocking

    core 2 duo e6300
    gigabyte 965p ds4
    asus ati radeon 1950pro
    geil ultra 2x512 pc6400
    thermaltake w0063RE 460w

ok, here it goes, if i try to overclock from bios (even the less signifiant attempt) the computer doesnt boot
if i try to overclock from windows using motherboard software, windows gives me blue screen and restarts...

is it a software problem ? or a psu problem ?
btw, is there any program out there that tells me how many watts is my computer using ?

What have you tried? You ram should be ok, make sure it stays at 800Mhz, often when you increase the FSB the memory clock rate will rise as well. What heatsink and fan are you using?

    BTW don't overclock from windows....ever.

The Arctic Freezer Pro 7 is very cheap and very effective, if you plan to overclock I suggest you get a HSF like the Freezer Pro 7.

50C seems pretty high for only 2.1ghz, maybe you should try remounting the heatsink and replace the thermo pad with Artic Silver 5 first.

ive got arctic cooling mx-1 thermal compound available,i didnt use it in the first place cause the intel stock cooler already had thermal compound on it and the install specifications didnt say its necessary to use adition thermal compound
in windows its sittin around 38-41 degrees Celsius while im downloading with 4 MB/s (no OCed)
it has went down 5 degrees from day 1 to day 3...

38-41C is a little on the warm side. Take off the stock heatsink, use some Isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol), the higher the concentration the better, and a glasses cloth to wipe off the old thermal pad, and then apply the thermal compound.
