But what EA does is not much different from the current trends, I think. It's just a new way of generating income for the gaming companies. Though some are no doubt greedier than the others.
I actually still do!![]()

PES was my favorite football simulator. Sadly the last 5 yrs or so, it became too arcade for my taste.
I agree. In my book EA is the worst publisher or developer though. It's just way ahead of the others. Broken games,DLC cuts,no patches, zero support etc![]()
Perhaps someone had or remember the first Konami's PES for SNES which was called Perfect Eleven?
I used to play it with my older brothers when i was a child and it always ended with physical fights between us.
Wow, I played that game so much that I still remember some fake last names for players they had
Even though CA don't like hard work... we still can have some list of things we really want them to add and fix? Maybe something magically happens and they will do it, at least we can hear THE answer from them. How about you add to the list I started? If Warhammer made on same engine and you can have more building slots there then it should be possible to add to Rome...
By the way micro-transactions are such cancer that some governments starting to oppose it. People should not have Stockholm-Syndrom and defend modern video gaming industry.

Yeah no more "upgrades." Warscape was an upgrade in the first place, and anyone with an understanding of what's happening under the hood of this engine, knows it's crap compared to what Rome I and Medieval II were accomplishing (graphics aside). It's inferior in almost every aspect, and in both modes of the game; battle map and campaign map. The only thing Empire had going for it (the first on warscape) was some interesting additions to the campaign map, and most notably the addition of real naval battles for the first time. And honestly, it did it VERY well. There were many improvements to be made of course, but all were easily moddable (see A Proper Empire, etc).
Now another "upgrade" to the warscape engine, Rome2's campaign map lost all the complexity of the campaign map, and its naval combat is absolute trash by comparison, with none of the innovations from that very first try. I don't even play naval battles in DeI -- 98% auto-resolve, and naval battles were my favorite part of TW since Empire so that says a lot.
Lets just wait and see how the DLC is once its released. As always, we will do our best to adapt the mod to it and work around things that we can.
In terms of the other issues that have been raised forever about requests, modding, etc., I don't expect any of those to gain traction since they haven't for 4 years. But maybe I will be pleasantly surprised![]()
What's so hard for CA to replace/improve game formulas to give us a REAL patch or so ? Say about the Warscape in Rome 2 collision simple formula by just simply adding one damn coefficient (the so well known 'critical hit' from almost all war games ??) to make battles more realistic ???? It's so simple that I can make this in just 10 minutes if I had access to warscape engine.....all peoples, and I mean 100%, complained from the start about the crap mechanism of damage (all we know that arrow volleys are the best example) and that would be fixed in minutes from CA if they really wanted. Or to really improve the game map, which is IMHO the second flaw of the game, extending the number of settlements by 2 or 3 to be in assent with a much more real ancient world ?
I still live in hope that they will add proper Anti Aliasing to the game in one of these patch/dlc/flc/ updates.![]()
DEI team opinion please : do you recommend , for those with ongoing campaigns , to turn off updates on steam in order not to download the dlc update ? thanks in advance for your answers!
sorry στρατηγέ - did not notice - will check previous posts
Νο worries. Definitely try to minimize STEAM's updating process or use the beta option to get back to the previous patch, after the new one comes out.
The short way:Use only steam offline's function or Go back to the previous patch from the beta menu.
The long way: How to Disable Steam Auto Updates.

I encourage everyone to quickly play a campaign with these factions, if you have not already. A Nabatea campaign was one of the most memorable I've played. Absolutely rewarding gameplay with the mix of units they have in DeI, interesting diplomatic and geographical situation, etc. If you ever read about them and what they were doing there, controlling trade, etc, there's a lot of room for a rich experience (Tyso's music mod needed). Watch a documentary about Petra and fire a campaign up!
