Really cheesy move on their side.

Btw, have they fixed all the bugs in ED? Like brittania not being able to recruit half of normal Roman roster? Or saxon mounted warband having persian officer assigned? AI armies deploying levy armies in late game? Let's just stick to Dresden and his crew and don't counttoo much on CA...

I wouldn't rule out a Numidian campaign in my future. Especially since Ritter gave them a nice rework recently. Might have to pay for the privilege, soon.

Female Leaders – Free LC
• Following in Zenobia’s footsteps, Cleopatra and Teuta are now fully playable as faction leaders and generals, along with custom visuals and voice-over.
• Important female characters have been added to all campaigns and across all factions. In some cultures, like Rome and Greek – women can only serve a social/political role while in other women can be generals and fight alongside men.
• For cultures where women can’t hold public offices there is a special “Cursus Honorum” path that follows the increase in “behind-the-stage” political influence of women.

• There are special events (dilemmas) that portray the trials and tribulations associated with women coming to power in ancient times. Usually, there are traditions and prejudice standing in the way. Such events allow the player to recruit a female leader or gain some other bonuses from parties that would oppose such a decision.
• Faction leaders of opposite gender can now marry as a diplomatic action, significantly strengthening the relations between the two factions.
• The basic marriage action now has political implications.
This is far more exciting than anything is the DLC.

They're really trying their best to do everything but add in a family tree.

Another dlc that introduces new features and leaves open the many shortcomings of the basic game.
I hope that one day they will ask the gamers that after 4 years they still play in rome 2 what are the defects and shortcomings that should have been present since the day of exit or from the successive numerous patches that came out later.
Personally I would gladly pay to the Ca a change to the hard coded part of the code according to the requests and the indications of the gamers.

Numidia using Ramzes II era chariots with scythes is unfunny joke.

Seems they'll never learn for gods sake! And somehow they treat Rome II as a brand so sloppy. They don't care the quality of content nor the details as much as they do with the Warhammer.

Warhammer from the units to cutscenes crowned like a king. But when it comes to Rome II "bleh!" I know the Rome II shows its age and all but with a bunch of dedicated small team they could do even better.

I'm just excited for DeI to be able to use some of the new assets introduced to flesh out the various factions like Meroe (soon-to-be Kush) visually with stuff like those awesome lion pelt warriors. I also hope there's some unique voicelines introduced with the DLC for the Desert Kingdoms.

Actually the DEI versions of the factions you mentioned like Meroe etc, are much more polished and expanded than the ones in the DLC.
Furthermore the aforementioned factions will be locked for users that don't have the DLC.

Are they planning to release a new patch as well?

(I guess the female leaders thing could bring some new problems for the mods)

Great news! Our already historical overhauled factions you can play for free right now will be replaced with generic cartoon/hollywood CA rosters that you will now have the privilege to pay for before using!

Man these DLCs are becoming a joke.

Not the first time they "steal" factions and make us pay for using DEI created factions.
I'm gonna puke if i see multiple female generals around the map on less civilized factions

Well, I can't speak for our plans exactly yet but whatever we can customize we will. For example, having female generals for factions that would fit historically such as Nomadic factions could make sense at a very limited spawn rate. But, for other factions most likely just limited to the new social system as described in the release blog from CA.

Is this Rome 2 or Ryse, Son of Rome now? I can't tell.
