Default A question to the IS authors

Hey! I want to try Imperial Splendour mod for the first time and I want to play the campaign from year 1700. Which version should I download: IS 2.0 or Rise of the Republic?
Secondly: do both versions have cool sounds, dense, thick smoke (as in Darthmod)?

RoTR begins in 1783 so you should only download IS v2.2.

about the sounds of the mod is pretty good, I do not like to compare mods but for me the musket sound of IS is not exaggeratedly strong, (if I compare it with that of darthmod), the soundtrack is quite good, for more information visit the faction discussion section.

I apologize if my English is not the best

Ok, thanks for informations regarding campaign and sounds, but what about smoke? Is it dense and stays on the battlefield for a long time? This is very important to me

being honest, the smoke is almost not in the battle but you can use a smoke submod to complement it (that's what I do)

I use a different smoke mod than IS uses in the main mod. I will share the file in the submod section when I get a chance.
It will have an effect on performance.

Then I am waiting. Performance is no problem, the most important is that there is a lot of smoke, as it was on real battlefields

Out of curiosity, which version is currently the most "complete" per say?

Version 2.2.1b have two factions fully done, France and Britain. In addition, as part of IS v2, Spain, and the UP have some units that were upgraded. I believe there are some more sprinkled about.

Rise of the Republic has several factions developed. It is already more developed than 2.2.1b.

Our plan is to complete all of the late units (Rise of the Republic) then complete the early units. (we are finalizing a "name" for the early period now. It is most likely going to be called Ancien Regimes) The last step is the middle period.

For 2.2.1b, I am working on the campaign side of it. It started off as minor tweaks here and there but has grown into a full-blown development. In order to present the campaign changes, I am forced to make some temporary adjustments. I am currently working on the battle mechanics, when I am done with that, then I will return to that campaign changes and hopefully have a beta for people to try out.

Thanks for the answer! I look forward to playing both versions in the future. I assume you guys are focusing on the European nations first before looking to the Eastern and Native American ones.
