Crashes when I try to go into a battle

Roma Surrectum III works just fine but when I try to battle an enemy or take a settlement it loads a little then crashes to desktop. Can anyone help me please?

Can you be a bit more specific, you say it works fine but in the same sentence say it crashes when you try a battle or siege, that's NOT working fine at all. Do you mean it starts ok but you cannot fight any battle or siege at any time?

Yeah everything else works, the campaign map works but when I try to get into a battle it crashes after it does that zooming in thing before it loads the battle.

I am assuming you are playing RSIII so 3 questions 1) have you installed the 3.1 patch? 2) open your desktop icon and scroll down to "properties" and check the target line looks like this if the word WONDERS is in the target line come out and delete the desktop icon, go into your directory/launcher/Roma Surrectum II/send to > click on "shortcut to desktop" come out and back to your desktop and you should be good to go. 3) in bottom left corner of the launcher is a tab that has "click to change vegetation quality" you must NOT do this or your game will crash.

Game works fine now. Re installed everything and now everything works just fine. It might have been the vegetation thing but I don't know, I clicked to see what it was in my first installation but I didn't change anything. Thanks a lot for your help.

You're welcome laddie. It was most likely an incorrect install in that case, it may not have been anything you did wrong(Windows interference with files being one reason) but it has happened to many who have posted queries on the forum and a reinstall has done the trick for them, pleased for you...enjoy
