i love 'rocks' and 'dream on' by aerosmith.
but i think GnR pip aerosmith out of best band in this discussion.
you cant beat appetite for destruction.
one of the best debut albums ever.

I don't reeeeally think you can compare them. They're different bands altogether; for a start they came about at totally different times.
Still, I personally don't like Aerosmith to be honest. Guns on the other hand were one of the bands that got me into music. SO they were better for me I guess.morecuriousthanbold.com -

Guns & Roses definitely were better during their time.
But they had such a short window, Aerosmith was good before G&R, and they were good after G&R.ttt

Original guns n roses (apetite) beat the **** out of original aerosmith (70's aerosmith)... but later GnR (use your illusion) also beats the **** out of later aerosmith
