Untrustworthy?

Someone really has to enlighten me: I have played the English and the Egyptians so far and every time my 'global' standing has become untrustworthy.

I don't break treaties.
I don't start wars.
I don't trespass on other's land.
I give regular tribute to my neighbors to keep relations 'reasonable'.
I have trade agreements with all factions.

So what is causing this?

I'm not sure why, but to compensate for that I always have a few Diplomats scattered around to offer 100 florin 'gifts'. I offer 100 florins as a gift 5 times, every few turns. That way, the relations hardly ever go below "Good".

Oh, and offer Map Information as a gift too. And finally, Offer to Attack Rebels. Every faction is enemy with rebels, so they like that. No matter the circumstance, I always offer to attack rebels, whether I am 'gifting' it, or bartering. I don't think the AI can do anything with map information, so it's not too big of a deal to give it away.

I was Spain and I was untrustworthy, next turn dubious, next turn mixed then next turn reliable...it's just buggered up

Ok, found out why. I had a look in the descr_faction_standing file:

Since then I try to only occupy and I went from untrustworthy to reliable after only 4 occupations!

As Gigantus pointed out there are many factors and the ones mentioned are the big hitters, besides that destorying temples in any cities (while capturing or not), killing prisoners. Have a look in the file, there are loads of factors mentioned there. most of them cause a small hit of1% or 2% butthere are a few that cause 10% or 15%!

It can also be the AI, just go to Downloads and download the latest AI program and i think it would be it.
I usally play on Hard or very Hard on Campain and Hard in Battle, and If a country start war with me I just give them hell.

just an update: by now I own the British Isles, Ireland and all of France with Aleppo in the East being a challenge to hold.
And I am very trustworthy! Since my last post I have only occupied cities, so I guess it is the major issue. By the way: Egypt is immaculate and my ally.

When I was playing as Spain, all I did was get excommunicated and my reputation went down....
Might of been because of the pope being from Milan and Milan being at war with me. If it was a Spanish Pope, favor coulda been mine
