I dont think the old camillian hastati really needed a revamp. Their rough and raw look fitted very well in the camillian roman roster. The new unit seems to be reusing other stuff from the new italic units and its style kinda lost its both consistency and its relative peculiarity within the camillian roster . You might have been considered some historical reasons and/or opportunity to reuse new materials to redo the models and textures but I think the original look shouldnt have been altered that much. This is one of those refine aspects of game design that truly fleshes out a roster and give a more tidy look to both particular and general look.

besides that the model itself seems a bit weird to me. Its either looks short or it doesnt have the right proportions (head seems rather big compared to body). Ive noticed this at other couple new italic units and at the old getai units. This is another detail that makes me frustrated with this change. I remember when the very first camillan hastati was reworked. That one really needed that (it looked from another game) and I was very happy since the roman roster -which was already the most tidy and among the most beautifully depicted- became almost perfect. I think if you really insist in changing it you should only add some hair adorments to the existing helmets either that full mane (crest) or the that little plume at the base of the feathers we also had in EB 1
