VENOM ROCK!

OMG! I thought I as only person who knew of VENOM! They are truly an awesome band and pioneers of black metal one of the greatest metals of all!

i didnt think anyone had some taste in music here until you said something!

I always found Venom to be quite er silly atleast compared to bands like Slayer (who of course were influenced by Venom) they almost seemed like a caricature even though they actually pretty much created the genre To me Lant was the Alice Cooper of thrash/death compared to the Ozzy that Chuck Schuldiner and Tom Araya would become where you had to try hard not to just laugh at him.

Venom are quite alright.
A bit too much power metal for a black metal band in my opinion.
I myself go for the other pioneer, Bathory.

Or you could go to the hardcore extreme of Mayhem another pioneer but not quite in the way one most people would approve

Well Mayhem is the 2nd generation and is directly influenced by Bathory like most black metal bands are during the 2nd gen.
And I don't like Mayhem.
You would be surprised on how many death threats I have gotten for not liking Mayhem
I'm more of a fan of the person that killed Mayhem, Burzum.
His music is alot better IMO.

i dont think mayhem where that good they just get attention for being sick weirdos.

meh, theyre ok. i like more growling in my metal =P

I like the old school BM like Bathory, Mayhem and the new school such as Dimmu Borgir, Cradle of Filth and Satyricon their all awesome!
