    Default mic doesn't work :(

You read the title, my mic isn't working, whatever I do it won't work, here's what I've done; Plugged in the mic (it's for the headphones), and I changed the mic volume and played around with things (and still doesn't work)...Oh and it's been like this since I got the new sound card, which I thought is the mic's problem, but after getting new headphones it still doesn't work.

C'mon guys, you've always been a great help for me, can you also be this time .

    Thanks!

    Your OS being?
And are you sure the mic is actually connected to the right place on the new sound card? And it is actually connected to the soundcard and not some front panel on your case which would be connected to some onboard device?
    Tried updating the drivers?
Are you sure you changed the recording volume and not the playback volume from the settings?

    Is the mic muted? xD

Yes, I am sure, the pink colored one in the back of my PC.
No, didn't try to, didn't know you can update the drivers of a soundcard (dumb me)
No I'm not sure, it's a bit confusing in the Creative surround mixer.
    It's not.

    Hope you can help.

EDIT: zYn, thanks A LOT man, I fixed it, +rep for you!

I think the new soundcards changed the place in which you insert the mic plug, before their where only 3 slots, now their are 4 slots, and don't use the pink one, now it's the blue one, right of the green (green is the one used for the sound output).
