Thread: Thrones of Britannia and Ancient Empires mutually exclusive?

  1. #1

Default Thrones of Britannia and Ancient Empires mutually exclusive?

Given that a new DLC (thrones of Britania) has just been announced, is this going to cause problems for the development of Ancient Empires? Ie, will the new version of the game force the devs of AE to change everything as the mod will be incompatible with it? I sure hope not, and if I had to choose one or the other, I'd rather play AE in the current Attila version, and not play thrones, but I'd like to hear what the mods have to say about it, if anything.
    Thank you!

    Good day sir.

ToB is it's own game entirely; not a DLC. It is to Attila what Fall of the Samurai was to Shogun 2.

Let's hope they finish it before Thrones of Britannia!

Without a doubt, if it is a dlc and part of attila, it will cause issues. Lets pray it is its own game as said in the post above.

    Spring 2018.

    Around March.

AE should be at least in a release stage by this month or Feb.

Fall of the Samurai was a Standalone as well but was integrated into Shogun 2 so that people for example play matches with each other. That is why there will be at least a patch to Attila i would assume.

Fall of the surai was Shogun 2. The thrones of britannia is a new game but based ot Atillas engine.

Would be typical that they throw a major patch to attila anyway tho

I don't think so. Attila is finished for CA because of its small player base. That's also the reason why they published Empire Divided and Desert Kingdoms for Rome 2 even though it's older and has worse graphics and game mechanics than Attila.
