Replacement Graphics Card for ATI 9550

Hi

I have the following computer:

P4 3.4 HT
1GB RAM
AGP ATI 9550 256MB

whilst I can run Medieval II, it lacks rather in visual splendour and I was wondering whether a improved graphics card would help. If so what could I buy for a resonable amount (approx £100-£150).

or nvidia 7600gt agp

Have you tried updating your driver? (updating the ATI card)

I could give you the link if you want it. (I did it to mine)

The game runs fine (no crashes etc). Will the updated driver improve the speed?

Not by much, you have an ancient card.

nVidia 7600GS or ATI X1950(AGP versions for both, though the latter might be over your budget).

I don't know which P4 you have, but maybe you want to save up abit and upgrade the whole thing?

You Could Get a 7800GS i just got it off of Newegg and its pretty good in most every game but its about $230 and its a wee bit big

It's a shame newegg won;t ship to the Uk, I could have saved myself an arm and a leg when building my computer last september, given todays exchange rate.

Go with the 7600GT Agp.
